My name is Ryan Green and I am a cosplayer that paints my face white. I also paint myself red, green, chalk white. Even though my skin is brown and chocolatey I still choose to paint my skin to match the color of the people I portray because they are not black and accuracy makes for a much better product. Is there anything wrong with portraying these people using just my brown skin? Not at all! But I guarantee you it looks a heck of a lot cooler if you go that extra step.

But is it racist to cover my brown skin just to match the color of someone else’s skins in which im pretending to be for a couple of hours? No. Absolutely not. Nor should it be offensive to the race of people I’m portraying by painting myself their skin color. And I’m sure the people were originally portrayed these characters appreciate the effort I am going through just to look like them.

Seriously guys, whether your black and your painting yourself white, your white your painting yourself black or your green and painting yourself red, Its just make up, and this is just Facebook. Please get over yourselves so we can go back to being offended by things that actually matter. Just sayin…

“Go away, Louise…” the boy rasped, a broken figure.

“No. I'll… I’ll stay here…Just in case.”  Kneeling in a cloud of dust, Louise cradled his face and kissed his forehead, sliding just enough to feel the heat of his forehead against hers, skin against skin. “I’m so, so sorry Luca.” The words were barely a whisper, but the telltale of a tear streaming down misty greenish eyes and freckled cheeks was enough of an indicator they were heard.

And maybe it was the human contact, maybe it was all just too much, but that stray tear evolved to dry heaves and ugly sobs, tremors racking Luca’s body as he buried his face on the crook of Louise’s neck, to the feel of delicate arms enveloping him in a tight embrace.
