“This scene with Luke in the car was Victoria’s audition piece. That got her this job. This scene in the car, I think, was the scene that Victoria got to live with the most. She’d prepared it, not only for her audition, but for all of her callbacks and scene study. And by the time she and Oliver [Jackson-Cohen] got to the point of production when it was time to shoot it, they had lived with it for so long, they wanted to rewrite a lot of the dialogue. I think we spent more time on this dialogue scene than any other scene in the show. And a lot of that was driven by the actors, who, by this point, had really kind of taken ownership of those characters and felt like they inherited them from the script, more than anything else. They inhabited them now and they brought a lot of themselves to it.”
