At that, Iriste laughed, as if it were a gentle reminder that she had been guilty of some flashy or dramatic entrances, all of which happened by chance (which she would claim). His humor lowered her guard and she believed he had no nefarious plans for the realm. If someone else had summoned him then there was no knowing of their intentions until there were more clues given. Or if something else was summoned with him elsewhere that would be a discovery for later.

“Some adventures start by being lost. There’s plenty to learn and corners waiting to be turned by someone who didn’t mean to be there,” she assured with a smile. “I know a place you can rest. I can put in a word with the innkeeper. If you wish for something to do in the meantime as well, you could join the Adventurer’s Guild.” 

“Mayhaps we both have luck on our side,” Iriste smiled at Ultan as she approached him, spying the small dish. “It pains me to imagine how much time could have passed to fetch me, filling me with the regret that I could be missing out on the freshness of the surprise there.”

She had convinced herself to not worry so much about the political landscape they’d be diving into, reminding herself that it would be another adventure to add to her unending journey. To embrace the chance of discovering new things for herself and to not leave things unturned. In her approach, her expression of curiosity faded into awe, green eyes sparkling. There were few she had never seen before and observing each delicacy made her mouth water. 

Nora didn't know if she was wanted to participate, but she took a chance simply to try.

Receiving Nora’s bingo entry was more than a pleasant surprise. It made her feel all giddy inside, discovering the librarian had taken the time to fill it out to see if she was her type. Missing three squares wasn’t a dealbreaker. There are three lines completed.

They could go on an adventure together through a story. And depending on the other book’s subject it could be seen as adventurous. And if a battle ever arose, Nora would have Iriste. 

Whilst she was capable of traveling by aetheryte back to Eorzea once she went to Tural, it felt better to visit before she set off on a new adventure. Also, in case she was unable to depending how everything played out.

Still, it gladdened her to reunite with longtime friends when their goal to better the realm brought them to traverse different paths. A surprised laugh left her lips from the lift and faded into a mirth filled giggle. Iriste was sure to reciprocate the friendly affection in her own hug once her feet were back on the ground and before pulling away, a joyous grin brightening her expression.

“It’s merely a simple visit,” she answered. “Nothing world ending I assure you.”

A friendly visit, though she did have a goal aside from seeing for herself how Lyse was faring. How long had it been since they could all relax and spend the day chatting away? Few and far between, especially when busying herself with deliveries, filling a journal with stickers, collecting tomes, the business of her Free Company and all else that grabbed her time and attention.

“I came to see you, actually. I was curious if you had some time to spare. I thought it would be wonderful to have sweets all together again, like we did before. If it was possible, of course. I don’t wish to take you away from everything you’re doing.” A rarity it was, it felt like, being able to catch up with friends. A luxury, Iriste would have to correct herself, moreso during dire times compared to now. 

Sound and sweet advice he offers her. Not to mention that the complement itself, delivered so eloquently, warmed her heart. While she knew she was not without allies or friends to confide in, there was always something holding her back from doing so. 

Often she kept herself busy that there hadn’t been a time where she could ask: why restrain yourself from taking the offered hands? 

Perhaps it was the pedestal somewhere in the back of her mind, where she was placed and highly regarded. Always reliable, the one to turn to when a threat came upon their beloved realm. Always capable, the one that will return to the ones waiting for her. Always willing, the one to notice someone in need and offer her own hand. Those were things she willingly did and was happy to do during her journey. Though there were times she wondered if the high expectations of herself blurred between her own and other’s. 

This wasn't the time to mull over that thought. A weight did lift off her shoulders from the lovely offer.

“My words, you say?” she asked with a playful lilt. “I believe your words are the beautiful ones between the two of us.” A simple truth it was. His poetry and the elegant way he held himself were all inspiring. Iriste would keep it secret that he was a motivation for her to weave graceful movement in her casting during battle and in some action during everyday movements. 

Thank you for the question @thescions! Before I didn’t have too many thoughts on Iriste’s relationship with Krile, but this ask did make me think on it for a while and the whole timeline between the first time they met and to the current patch. Iriste greatly respects Krile and thinks of her as a wonderful ally and friend. There’s a comfort that she finds when meeting others with the Echo and others from Sharlyan, as she did spend her childhood in the Sharlayan colony before the exodus. Aside from that, Iriste has held interest in the arcane so she would have probably asked Krile more about the research done in the organization, hoping to bond over academic interests.
