Maybe I can't say much about this since I'm not aro or ace (demisexual + bi gay) but I only ever see people say "aroace people can still date/have sex!!" When they're trying to defend shipping an aroace character with someone else, but they never ACTUALLY bother listening to input from members of the aspec community on it. I asked a few people I know what their personal take was, and some said they didn't care, but I got way more responses saying that while aroace people CAN date/have sex, making an aroace character do those things just defeats the purpose of HAVING an aroace character in the first place.
And the same notion doesn't seem to apply with other sexualities, such as gay or lesbian, and a lot of these people are inherently against contradictory labels as well.
Idk man, it just feels like you don't actually care about aroace as an orientation. But again I'm not aroace, so I don't wanna speak up above ACTUAL aroace individuals, don't take my word as the definite truth or whatever
Personally, as an aromantic, I usually feel the opposite to this. Like whenever I see characters who are hc as aro, it feels like people only do that because said character isn't visibly jumping at every single person in their premises.
I'm aro, and I can't feel romantic attraction, yeah, whatever. This doesn't mean I can't date, it just means I can't feel romance. I'm not going to hug or kiss you, and neither do I want to. I'll definitely cringe at any idea of that without a doubt, and if you actually do any of that to me I won't tell you I hated it but you'll know.
Still, this doesn't mean I can't date. It just means I don't want to engage in any romance.
Whenever I see characters with the aro/ace headcanon, it's just a character who is in every aspect completely silent when it comes to everything. Just because this guy isn't falling for even the prettiest of people doesn't mean he can't date, it just means he can't feel romantic attraction. People even use the aro/ace sexuality as a way of rejecting people?? What? Because you're "aro" they have to back off? You could just say no, you don't have to lie, you literally have a partner. -🎀

i love that ship so much! ivan, he does yearn, i will admit it! till, i do think he at least had feelings for ivan at some point. bc whenever ivan kissed him, i believe that he was more surprised than upset.
