Joe wanted to do something for Taylor. Not because it was a special occasion, but just because he felt like it. To see her smile. That’s a good enough reason.
Taylor went to New York for the day to solve some things, and he stayed in Rhode Island. With a little advice from his mates and the help of her bodyguards, he fixed something romantic.
By 9 pm she arrived. He was waiting for her in the living room, watching TV. When she walked in the room, he greeted her with a kiss. Taking her hands in his, he smiled. “I have something to show you.” He lead her to the roof. It was a warm summer night, perfect for a dinner outside.
He heard her gasp when they got there. “You did all this by yourself?”
“I had a little help.” He shrugged.
Little lights iluminated the dark night. In the middle, he had set a table with dinner he had prepared himself, something that made him very proud. Walking to the table, he pulled a chair for Taylor to sit.
Like he predicted, she was smiling widely. The happiness in her face was why he did it. “Dinner is brought to you by chef Alwyn. I heard he’s great.”
“I can’t believe you did this.” She said as he sat down in front of her. “This is amazing. It’s the first time someone does this for me.”
“Well, it’s the first time I do this for someone.” He grins, taking her hand over the table. “You deserve this and much more.”
“I love you, you know that?” He knew she was being honest. You could see it in her eyes.
“I love you too.”
Dinner was actually good, even though Joe cooked it. They laughed and laughed and in the end Joe made Taylor slow dance with him as Daniel Ceasar sang on his phone. With her head on his shoulder and her hands around his neck as he held her tight, she truly felt she was where she should be.
