“You’re too nice to me,” Anti whispered, fluttering his eyes closed as he felt the first tears escaping his eyes.  “I’m so lucky to have someone like you and Damien around, even more so that you are my friends. I don’t even deserve you,” he smiled sith trembling lips, wiping one tear with the back of his hand. “You and Damien are the only two possitive things about this facility.”

She smiled weakly, leaning up and kissing his forehead warmly, lingering there for a few seconds as she pulled herself together and blinked the stubborn tears that formed in the corner of her eyes away. Words failed her, her thoughts racing all at once as a tight knot formed in her throat, barely making it possible for her to whisper tenderly, “We will always be here for you, Anti. Always.” 

Raven nodded. “Thank you, Ade. Please, close the door,” he whispered. He felt the blood pulsing in his temples. He wanted to flee so bad and finally feed himself on what he was originally supposed to eat, but he didn’t want to hurt his friend, she was the only one who gave a damn about him in this entire godforsaken facility.

Giving a little nod that she knew would go unnoticed, she turned on her heels and walked out completely, closing the door and locking it as the ghoul had asked and was required to do. Her heart shrinking in pity for the ghoul as she felt the impotence dawning on her. If only she could do better for him, but in that facility, the bonds that restrained every person in the building went beyond that just the patients, even if that was something Ade refused to admit. 

She complied, closing her eyes, swallowing nervously around a little lump that formed in her throat. Her frown burrowed at the first projections of what seemed to be Aaron’s memories, her body tensing as she saw his wings being ripped off. Yet again, her body relaxed as well as her mind once he showed her the real appearance of Earth in the beginning, and the space.  Looking up at him when he let go, she pressed her lips into a thin line, one of her hands reaching up to gently brush the black liquid away as best as she could, “Hey, how are you feeling? Come, let’s sit down.”

The poltergeist wrapped his arms around Ade in return, feeling his eyes well up with tears as he let out a shaky breath. “You and Damien are the first two people who didn’t treat me like a piece of shit, y’know? It means a lot, and I have no idea how should I repay the favour to you.”

“Oh, Anti,” She sighed softly, her arm tightening around him reassuringly. It was common knowledge how people usually treated those beings that they didn’t understood, why did her stomach dropped at hearing his shaky breath and those words come from his lips? She already knew it. “You don’t have to repay us. You can always count on us for whenever you want, no favours of payement required at all.”

“I’m going to move once you leave the room, I don’t wanna attack you. I can smell oyu, I can hear your heartbeat and it’s a torture,” he said through gritted teeth, peeking one golded eye from behind his forearm. “Please go, you¨re too pretty for walking around with parts of you missing.”

She frowned, sensing the tone of his voice and sighing. The psychiatrist stood there for a couple of seconds before she walked back to the door, not wanting to prolong the torture for the ghoul. Once she opened the door, she cleared her throat sheepishly, “I’ll come back tomorrow with more meat.”

“Thanks,” Raven repliedwith a quiet voice, not leaving the curled up possition. Truth to be said, he didn’t even want to feed himself, he wanted nothing more than to be let out of this facility and chase down dead bodies. He didn’ wnat to snap agan and go after living flesh.

“Won’t you feed yourself?” She hummed worriedly, pursing her lips as she took a riskful step forward, as if wanting to reach out to him to let him know she was there to help him. “Are you alright, Raven? Amongst what could be called alright while being trapped.” She inquired, whispering the last part with guilt heaving in her caring tone.

“Give me your hands,” the fallen angel demanded, reaching out towards his friend. He had no reason to lie to her about his origin, but he was afraid that if he would persuate her verbally, he might as well end up locked in the asylum for insane people, which he didn’t want at all. So instead he wanted to demonstrate his abilities to her, even though he might pass out after.

She frowned, eyeing him warily and with disbelief. Eventually she sighed, shaking her head almost managing to shrug off all the uneasy feeling that fogged her mind and giving him her hands, taking a deep breath and muttering, with a little pout. “I swear to God, Aaron, if you scare you won’t hear the end of it.”

“If you want to, you can throw the shame on me. It wouldn’t be too far from the truth afterall,” Anti hummed ad smiled a little at his friend, walking over to her and holding her small hands in his own. “I’m excited to go home, but then, I’m going to miss you a lot, and Damien, too, even if he’s a little grumpy,” he laughed.

“You know I wouldn’t be capable of doing such thing, Anti.” She shook her head, giving him a little smile in return before she wrapped an arm around him to hug him. “I’ll miss you too, but let’s not worry about that. Alright? Maybe destiny has a friendly encounter prepared for all of us in the future.”

“Raven.” She called carefully, moving back to the door once she had put the tray on a nearby table, her hands clasped behind her back as she looked at the curled up ghoul attentively, “I got you some meat.” 

Aaron sighed and coughed heavily, looking at Ade with suddenly tired eyes, almost looking like he would fall asleep right where he was standing. “Okay, I’m going to tell you. You might think I’m crazy, but I swear I’m telling the truth,” he murmured. “I am a fallen angel. I’m as old as the universe itself,” he whispered, shifting his gaze back to his friend.

She crossed her arms, looking at him in disbelief as she moved closer to touch his arm, “Aaron, you’re my friend and you know that I love you, but angels don’t exist... Is impossible, there’s just no way for someone to be an angel, or be as old as you are.” Softening her voice she then added, “Is alright if you don’t want to tell me, I won’t force you to say anything. But I am worried about what may be happening to you.” 

“That’s awesome!” the poltergeist cheered, already feeling more energetic than he did before. “I can’t wait to go home, I’ll finally take a proper long shower and hypernate in my bed for at least a week straight,” he laughed, grinning like a ray of sunshine at Ade. “How did Andrew react to our little incident anyway?”

Pursing her lips, she crossed her arms, oven though she kept his clothes, “To be honest, he wasn’t particularly happy, we still have some discussion left.” Shrugging she gave him a little smile, “Let’s not think about that, shall we? Let’s focus on how your time here is coming to an end and how your freedom is getting closer.”

The second the psychiatrist left, Raven wrapped himself into the blanket, pretending to be smaller then he was, laying on his side and curling up like a cat. It would almost look like he was sleeping, except soft groans, whines and sobs were leaving him. He didn¨t want to be this monster, he didn’t choose his fate, but then, he didn’t want to die. He wanted to make people happy, like he did before.
