So I have a request if you’re willing to accept it or at least entertain it. It’s for a longer aged up Urzula/Kyatara Au story. Though it’s Kya 1 rather than 2 like your other one (which was a great read!).
The basic premise is that in the third book of ATLA when the Gaang was in hiding on Hama’s island and they went to her tavern, they discovered that Hama has a companion. Katara and Sokka’s mother Kya. It turns out that Kya was captured by Yon Ra and not killed by him. Katara, Hakoda, and Sokka simply mistook a burned corpse for Kya’s.
Instead what found was Kya hiding with Hama in the Fire Nation village. Story goes, that when Kya was captured she was brought to a high security prison just below the boiling Rock. Instead of being outright educated for being a waterbender because the officials discerned that she wasn’t one. Anyway, Hama here’s a rumor of a captured member of the southern water tribe and decided to free her. After a long and perilous adventure they got out of the prison together and made their way to Hama’s tavern. Though tried her hardest to requisition a ship to take her to the South Pole so she could be with children, but was unable to get one that wasn’t monitered by the Fire Navy.
Katara was ecstatic her mother was alive and a little miffed that she didn’t make her way to the South Pole. But she understood that wasn’t by choice, she physically couldn’t get a ship and she was nearly compromised several times.
Anyway, Katara and Sokka reunited with their mother and it was perfect. Except for one glaring detail, Katara had the hots of Kya. She didn’t mean to a she was disgusted with herself, how could just after Kya, her own mom! But Katara coudnt help self from staring at Kya’s perfect butt, her amazing breast, fantasizing of running her hands through Kya’s hair and curves so like her own. She daydreamed about dating Kya, about doing other things with Kya.
When Hama’s duplicity was revealed, Katara was relived that Kya had nothing do with it.
But after the day of black sun failed, the Gaang plus Kya fled to the western Air Temple.
And on the other parts of the island Zoe thing similar is going down. See Azula could sense her brothers wavering loyalty to the Fire Nation and to there father, so she purposes a field trip of sorts to remind what the royal family is fighting for. The common man and women of the Fire Nation. So Azula supposes what better way to do this than to go the rural village that was th childhood home of there mother (that parent Zuko loved most and who Azula believed also loved Zuko most)
Anyway, the two of them make their way to Hira’a to meet the locals. They meet a lovely women named Noriko her husband Noreen and their daughter Kiyi. There was something familiar about Noriko but neither she or Zuko could quite put there fingers on what.
As they begin to ask around the village learning about there mothers life there, Azula was conflicted. One th one had she was eager to learn more about her mother, on the other she was still firm in her belief that Ursa never loved her. Not like Zuko. And in a way Azula is right, just not in how she suspects in the future…
When talking around, the two siblings discern something like a local legend, that of the powerful spirt “the mother of faces” in the nearby forest the forgotten valley. And apparently Ursa visited there just a few years ago. So Azula and Zuko go to investigate and thy learn something truly surprising about Noriko. It turns out that she was Ursa, just with a different face and magically repressed memories. Azula was pissed that Ursa willingly forgot about them and spitefully wanted to “honor her wish” but Zuko wanted to fix Ursa.
Eventually Zuko convinces a reluctant Azula to go along with his plan. And Noriko is confronted and she agrees to go to the mother of faces and Ursa is restored in mind and body. Her face going back to the way it was.
Azula of course incredibly conflicted. But she starts fantasizing about Ursa, and its disgust her to her core. But Azula can’t stop.
Ursa decides to go with them to the capital but discreetly so. So wants to catch up with Zuko and Azula after so long apart, but she doesn’t wish to put Kiyi and (now after mother of faces) Ikem in danger.
In the weeks following she tries to get closer with both of them, and is trying to think of ways to show Azula that she loves just as much as she loves Zuko.
During the day of black sun when Zuko confronts Ozai Ursa is there, and Ozai decides he needs to eliminate them both. Azula who had successfully thwarted the Gaang goes into the throne room at that exact moment and she makes a spiri second decision that will decide th course of her life. She stops Ozai’s attack with one of her own. Saying the lives of Ursa and Zuko and infuriating her father.
The three of them then have to run!
In part 3, it is where the story idea really starts to heat up.
Azula, Zuko, and Ursa made their way to their way to the western air temple where they believed the Avatar to be. They find him and…
What happens in the rest of the story?
How does Azula realize that she is in love with Ursa? Katara realize that she is in love with Kya? And vice versa?
How do the taboo relationships start?
Does Azula become Aang Firebending master and accidentally achieve redemption?
How does Azula realize Azula and Katara cope with the fact that their once greatest enemy (each other) has th same secret as the. That they are literally mother fuckers?
I hope that enjoyed the request! And I can’t wait to read whatever you write. Whether it’s this request, any other, or something else.
I’m definitely into both Urzula and Kyatara. And this was pretty inspiring I see myself writing about it!
I like the idea of Kya being alive all these years, and I can see how it will play out for Katara to fall for her, after all these years of grieving only to realize her love for her mother isn’t as innocent anymore, keeping close to Kya and brushing it off to the fact that she misses her and not that she can’t keep her hands off her body, Kya either didn’t notice this or just ignored it happy to have her family back.
Azula would definitely be pissed at her mother’s choice and in her mind this proves further that Ursa didn’t love her, she was still angry at her and not so accepting but Ursa kept trying to mend their relationship constantly until Azula started to let her instead of push her away.
The fact that they all ended up together in the western temple could get a little messy, Azula and Katara won’t get along they’re always fighting, until Azula calls out Katara for having feelings for Kya, I imagine at that point Katara doesn’t realize she have feelings yet but her actions says otherwise, and Azula is just projecting. They will start getting along from that point when they find out they’re more similar than they think!
