I understand why people need to find a "why" behind Salvador Ramos' actions, but I honestly think there isn't one. Or at least not a good one. I honestly believe that some people are just sick fucks.
As someone who went through a phase where I researched true crime, the more you delve into it, the more you realize that the official explanations rarely entirely answer the question.
The Columbine killers may have been bullied. Apparently, that's sometimes disputed, so I don't know what the truth is. But if they were, bullying didn't turn them into white supremacists. They did that on their own. Bullying isn't an excuse for murder either.
Serial killers were often abused, but that doesn't explain why they take it out on innocent people. And then you find out about ones who may not have had a perfect childhood but didn't seem to experience abuse or significant trauma.
Usually, after evaluating every reason, you're left to conclude that the individual was deeply evil and twisted. Sure they may have things that contributed to them being that way, but others who experienced the same or even worse trauma don't become killers. They may have a reason for what they do, but normal people are unable to understand it.
Salvador Ramos was evil, and as hard as it is to accept, there was no reason for his actions. Not one the average person will be able to understand.
If he was bullied, so what? Not by the children. If he was abused, that's terrible, but again he was not abused by the children. Maybe he had a psychiatric disorder, but I find it odd when this diagnosis is only made posthumously. And to have a not guilty by reason of insanity determination, he would have needed to have a severe break with reality. To my knowledge, his family hasn't given any indication that this happened. There is no understandable answer as to why he did it. He was evil, and he wanted to hurt people. That's why. It's hard to have it be something we can't understand, but that's it.
