Bakugo x Traitor (reader)
PART ONE!!!
Bakugo wasn’t subtle.
He never had been, but this was different.
You noticed it the third time his hand brushed yours and didn’t pull away right away. The way his eyes snapped toward anyone who got too close. The way his voice got sharper and rougher, whenever you laughed at something Denki said.
It was stupid.
It was confusing.
And it was getting harder to ignore.
“Oi,” he muttered beside you, arms crossed, shoulders tense like he was holding himself back from something. “Why’re you always with them lately?”
You blinked. “What are you talking about? We’re all in the same class.”
“That’s not what I mean.”
Of course it wasn’t.
It was never what he said with Bakugo. It was what he didn’t.
Across the room, Kirishima waved you over, Denki already mid-sentence about something dumb, and Izuku stood nearby, watching, like he always did, quiet but aware of everything.
Your chest tightened.
You’d known them forever.
Since you were four years old. Since the day you moved here—tiny, quiet, completely out of place in a house too big and too expensive to ever feel like home. Back then, Bakugo was loud, Izuku was softer, and everything felt… normal.
Safe.
But that wasn’t the full story.
It never had been.
Your dad wasn’t just some important businessman.
He was powerful, yeah, but not in the way people thought.
You knew what he did behind closed doors. You’d seen it. Heard it. Lived in the shadow of it.
A mafia boss.
The word still sat heavy in your mind, even after all these years.
And you…
You weren’t innocent either.
Your fingers curled slightly at your sides.
Because you hadn’t just known.
You’d been there.
Visited.
Helped.
Worked with the League of Villains.
You knew their faces. Their voices. Their plans.
You knew things you were never supposed to know.
Things about quirks.
About weaknesses.
About the people standing just a few feet away from you now.
Your friends.
“Hey.” Bakugo’s voice cut through your thoughts, low and sharp. Closer than before.
You looked up, and he was already watching you.
Not annoyed.
Not angry.
Something else.
Something heavier.
“…You’re spacing out again,” he says
Your heart skipped.
For a second, you wondered…
If he knew.
