ive seen people with "niche" interests, funky cool clothing, who read classics who like themselves more for this, or who believe that that makes them better than all the other "basic" girls out there. i've seen those same "basic" girls with the white tank tops and "basic" stereotypically girly interests like shopping and starbucks and who go out to the beach with their friends and have pool parties and be popular with boys be very happy and pleased with their life and who they are. and i've envied both.
i've envied the girl who doesnt care what she wears and will go out dressed like adam sandler and see it as a 'cool girl' thing, and i've envied the girl who loves curating outfits down to the details with cool rings and accessories and see that as ultimate cool girl as well.
I've envied both and ive wanted to be like both which baffled me- how could i want to be 2 different complete opposite things and find both sides of that cool?
i realised then that what i actually envied wasn't what they liked or found cool, or how they dressed. but it was actually that these people that i met with these qualities, were happy and secure about it. they wanted to be that way and they chose it for themselves. its what makes them happier. they've decided for themselves what they thought was cool and chose to be that way even though their idea of 'cool' may not have been the same to another person's its the fact that they didnt care and they still chose to be who they are which was so, very, cool to me.
i do hope i'm articulating this well. what im trying to say is: be who you want to be, what you think is cool, and be it fully to the max. no doubts, no thinking about what others think is cool, YOUR opinion is the only one that matters in your life.
whatever you do, own it. if its embarrassing, own it. if its weird or cringy, own it. own what you did without being embarrassed then just pump out some more embarrassing things. you'll get over it and realise its not the end of the world! anything you do is only ever embarrassing if YOU act embarrassing by it. you can choose to simply dismiss it and not give it any attention or laugh about it with your friends. instead of embarrassing, call it funny. a great funny story to tell for the future.

brightly coloured eyeshadow is a must, and dont just remain on the eyelid, explore on the sides of the eyes and other parts of the face to get an ethereal look. + add in glitter and sparkles, OBVIOUSLY and rhinestones to be even more bedazzling!
glossy lips always! in case you cared, my favourite brand is fenty beauty by rihanna, her lipglosses are gorgeous and so nice on the lips for me <3
