Calyx (Future or AU idek)
Youâre trapped on the other side. You need another way around. Chris was trapped with thatâ that odd creature dressed behind the face of the Nemean Lion. There was nothing that struck directly as familiar, yet every time the beast attacked you, and you called out to Chris for help it halted the guard beast in its steps just mere moments away from dragging a claw down your pale skin.Â
It was violent. It was ferocious. Itâs screams could only belong to a monster. YetâŚ. The longer the fight had gone on, the less you were willing to react to its assault. But it continued to attack you in more ways than one as defense and by orders. Chris had been violently marked by a raking claw down the chest. The wound bled profusely. As a final moment before Chris attacked it, the monster thrusted all itâs weight in throwing you back into the ground. It held you down effectively, but instead of poising to do some real deadly damage, the monster instead examines you closer with a armored claw reaching for your cheek as if to caress it.Â
"JhhhrrrâŚâŚ" It gargled gently behind the mask.
But Chris returned the three year long overdue favor, recovered from the blow he received and tackled the monster into the next room. The two had disturbed and broken the lever which divided the outer room with what looked like a prison cell. There was no way to get in that way now, and your heart was pounding much more anxious than ever.
"Chris!!! Chris!!" But every time you got his attention, he had to refocus on defending himself as the monster would leap and try to do intense harm. You had to get in there. You had to find another way around! You werenât sure why but you had to! and not just because your partner was in danger. It was the nameâ The name was coming back to you. The one term that had proven its importance more than once that had something to do with that armored beast.Â
There was a second door that connected the prison cell where the two continued to brawl it out violently. It was unlocked. You needed to get to that door, and so a bewildered sprint comes to play to navigate the halls. A right, then a left, then down a trapdoor and through some old air shafts. The name, the name! It was right there on your tongue but couldnât spit it out. It wouldnât come out more than an incoherent and nonsensical garble. Finally, the exact little hall where you could break the lock and access your way in, but you couldnât get there fast enough as you heard both Chris and his enemy caterwaul through the airâ one of a final effort, and the other of deadly pain. The monster howled almost pitifully as you yanked off the old lock to the door and kicked it open.Â
Calyx. Calyx. Oh my godâŚâŚ Calyx.Â
The name had finally processed past your ravaging heartbeat, but all you can see inside the room as the door swung open was in factâŚâŚâŚâŚâŚ
ChrisâŚ.. Standing ever so victorious in his battle of defense. His knife was out and soaked in blood. Before him was the slain beast flooded with blood and nearly unmoving. A pitiful whimper from the beast prompt Chris to not give it a second chance to recover, so he raised up his knife to deliver the killing blow.
And you screech for him to stop while your hands pried it from his grip, throwing it at the ground.Â
Under all this armor, masking and decoration. Could it really be her? Could it really beâ
