Agent Phoenix

*Phoenix woke up startled when the cat jumped up onto his hospital bed. He rubbed his eyes as he pushed himself up, confused, before realising that there was a cat right on his lap. He gasped, and slowly reached forward, grabbing the the cat and pulling it close against his chest, burying his face between it's ears. He noticed the sign, and giggled upon reading over it. It was the first time he had done that in weeks...*

"Aww...! Y-You're just l-like me...!"

*He exclaimed softly, his voice hoarse due to its lack of use. He stared into the cat's eyes, smiling softly. His smile faded a bit.*

"B-But now I-I've got t-to make a c-choice...s-should I l-let you g-go and never go n-near you...? O-Or should I k-keep you w-with me a-and hide you f-from the others...? I d-don't want a-another Goldie on m-my hands..."

*Phoenix was conflicted. He loved the cat already, but knew it would get hurt if seen around him. He would decide when he's out of the medical ward. For now, the kitty's staying in his arms...*

*They giggle as the cat rubs its face on theirs. They back away, and pet it softly. As it starts to calm down, they smirk.*

"Ah, s-so that's what y-you want? S-Sneaky lil kit! A-Alright fine. Y-You win..."

*They surrender, pulling the cat closer and patting them some more.*

*Phoenix was interrupted by a fluffy tail to their face.*

"O-Okay...?"

"I g-guess...?"

*They stay still for a few moments, before picking the cat up once they start feeling the urge to sneeze, and pulling it back to their chest.*

"O-Okay fine, you melodramatic idio-

*They receive a smack on the nose before they can complete their sentance.*

"Oww~!! That w-was totally unnecessary!"

*The two glare at each other for a bit, but Phoenix cannot stand the intimidating presence of the kitty. They break under the pressure, and hug the kitty tightly, giving them a treat and grumbling under their breath.*

*Phoenix got up from their hospital bed. Their legs were shaking a bit, but they stabilised themselves against the wall. They left the room for a short amount of time, before coming back with a plate. It was an arrangement of treats and safe-for-cat foods. They sat back down on the bed, exhaling softly, and placed the plate in front of Wires.*

"Here y-you go, bud..d-don't eat t-too fast or you'll c-choke."

"G-Glad you l-like it, Wires!"
