so im 8 days post op atm and i figured id jot down a couple differences between my surgery/recovery and a lot of the other ones i see!

first off im not in america so i figured there might’ve been some things different, and surgeons don’t all follow same methods etc. anyway.

main ones are:

a) my drains were BIG ol like 600ml ones? and i didnt have to empty them at all, just measure the output each morning, which made things easier. still got them out at 1 week. b) no post op binder! this is a surgeon choice, but i find it interesting nonetheless. seems he does this for both peri + DI. c) was allowed to shower right off the bat b/c the sites had waterproof dressings.

#overall i seem to be having it way easier than some other ppl #i didnt TRY shower till day 4 bc mobility etc but i was still allowed to #top surgery

forgot to update here lol but my chop got cancelled 14h before it was scheduled so obviously THAT didn't happen, been waiting 3 months now to get another date but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ nothing yet!

got a call yesterday and my chop is scheduled for next friday!!! 🥴🥴🥴🥴. easily may be postponed due to covid stuff but we'll have to see!!! excited. phreaked out. fingers crossed

listen I don't wanna be petty but it's been 5 months since I had my consult without knowing when I'm actually getting the chop and I'm getting more and more 🥴 about it as time ticks on.

#officially the info is like. 'average wait is 2m after consult' and im like. ha.#but literally im just on hold until i get it done bc I wanna go job searching but dont wanna mess everyone round w healing times etc.#so ive been putting it off till after but 🥴#when i contacted them back in dec they were like 'ur pencilled in for early feb but this will probs change bc priority is cancer patients'#which is extremely fair and i understand but also 🥴#its mid feb so im assuming it got pushed back so idk.#also idk how much notice im gonna get? i think anywhere between a month and a week lol #so it's just been feeling like schrodingers surgery :/#legit almost every day the back of my brain is going like.. am i gonna find out today........ (the answers been no)

forgot 2 update on this blog but I have a consult for the chop!! it was gonna be early aug, but it got pushed back to mid september... gonna b impatient waiting for it but still v v v v v v glad for my referral to have finally been selected 😩👌

have been keeping an eye out for those fun going on/off hormone side effects.. wasn't sure when I'd get em since I'm going off reandron (the long lasting shot).... anyway. the side effects.. they be hittin

finally got a chat w my endo a few weeks ago and properly decided to stop hrt. since ive been taking reandron (the 3 monthly, slow acting shot), she thought it was safest to just not take my next shot and just let it slowly go out of my system. will have to see what changes happen in the next few months

#hopefully my facial hair doesnt thin much.. wanna keep that

I found when I tried beforehand it was definitely itchy? but this time I've been sticking to moisturizing my skin every few days/whenever it gets dry, and paying attention to that has meant it hasn't been itchy!

since im nb and have some very specific feelings regarding being male-assumed, i wasnt super sure on how id take to growing in my facial hair? actually really enjoying it, little bitta euphoria with that fluff. gotta love it
