‘ you interrupted my croissant for this? ’ dark eyes look up into her blue ones, attempting to gauge how serious she is. the death grip on his hand seems to imply this is a life or death matter. ‘ you get your tower of macarons if i get my breakfast spread. baal needs his bottomless bellinis. ’ 

He’s honored that she looks for him, he figured that she would have thought he be dead by now, it wasn’t like him to not cause a scene wherever he went, but his power is fading and that’s all behind him. “ Oh yeah, and what could a mighty fine demon want with a little old thing like me? ” He’s still strong, but compared to certain demons he’s starting to lack in power.

‘ for you? always. ’ he sets down his croissant and offers his bride to be his full attention. ‘ what’s troubling you, my love? ’ 

despite whatever preconceived notions she might have had towards him, he’d never held any ill will towards the demon queen. quite the opposite actually. there had been a time where he had been quite taken with her. and because of those feelings, he might always have a soft spot for her. 

he brings her hand to his lips, placing a gentle kiss to her knuckles. ‘ how uncharacteristically generous of you. ’ it’s meant as a light jab, his attempt at being playful with her. fingers curl around her one hand as the other is placed lightly against the small of her back. ‘ let’s see if you can back up that talk of yours or if you’re just as bad as i am. ’ 

thinking that his appearance was due to spite kept her from feeling the small twinge of guilt for sending the invitation just to try and hurt his feelings. as childish as it was, it had made her feel better at the time. she can’t help the grin that spreads across her face when his lips press against her skin. sometimes she missed the small charms of his personality such as this.

    “ I hope you don’t mind, I’ve helped myself to a few–  bottles?  ” He looks over at the amassing empty bottles of wine that sat next to him, and then back to her. “  Also hope you don’t mind me popping in, its been awhile since I’ve seen you.  ” He wants to comment on how she’s doing, from his perspective she looks like she has risen a bit— maybe even passed him. @agameofsouls

three hours had passed with a shocking lack of screaming and murder in zu’s household as she directed caterers, decorators, and her own personal staff to transform the ballroom into a grand brunch buffet. the columns were decorated with pale pink ribbon and white flowers, the curtains pulled back to let in natural light, and tables upon tables covered with all of the best brunch foods and desserts, complete with a solid crystal mimosa fountain.

zu buckled abel into his high chair as her staff finished and left, just in time for eve to be escorted in. she greeted her with a smile.
