she would never admit that she was as freaked out about the movie as she really was, despite him being able to tell. agata knew that something like this was never something that fleur would be able to watch entirely, but she had acted like it, not wanting to wimp out of a movie that he suggested to her. agata wasn’t going to be scared of something like a movie, not even if it was supposed to be some weird paranormal thing. jumpscares were cheap, but they were never going to actually scare him. blood and guts would have been weird if they scared him, considering the environment he was constantly in for work. scenes like that were probably something heh was a little too used to, though they usually weren’t fake when he saw them. she never liked to imagine things like that, not when she could barely stomach watching a movie like that – he had been teasing her about it every time she would sneakily try to hide her face from him whenever something would happen that freaked her out, but eventually, she had just stuck her face against his shoulder and kept it there.

“ i’m not hiding, “ she grumbled to him, despite him being able to tell when she moved her head further away from the screen whenever a part she didn’t like would come up. she could hear him laughing at her every time, but he definitely knew that she was going to be acting like an absolute wimp from the moment they put the movie on. she’d told him before that she could handle scary movies, back from the time before they were dating, mostly since she didn’t want to seem like such a wuss to him … she didn’t think that he was going to remember it, but agata seemed to be able to recall a lot of the things they talked about much better than she thought he would be able to. she couldn’t guess what was going to come back to bite her in the ass next, but it hopefully wouldn’t be as embarrassing as this, since she would have been jumping and closing her eyes through the whole movie even if she wasn’t leaning on him. “ i just don’t like all the – the blood and stuff. it’s gross, i don’t know how you can watch that. “ she knew why, of course – he was too used to it, but he had to be. someone like her still got very squeamish over that – she always felt a little sick whenever she started to bleed, or saw someone else bleeding. it was one of the main reasons she always jumped to take better care of agata’s injuries.

the suggestion for a horror movie wasn’t done with the intent to traumatize her, he more so thought that it was something to do around this time of the year. when he saw that it was already on, he asked her if this was something she would want to do -- her hesitant reply was a good hint that she was lying to him, but it wasn’t as if a movie was going to hurt her. if she was so scared, he would let her hide in his arm, that, or he would cover her eyes for her. that didn’t mean that she was going to escape any kind of teasing. the gore aspect of the movie was certainly nothing that was going to have him reeling. he had seen so many things first - hand, hardly including his friend being nearly decapitated in his arms, that he couldn’t say he had much of a reflex to it. he wasn’t fond of it by any means, but his lack of reaction was still something that would be startling to most. a paranormal movie wasn’t going to be the most gross like that, or so he assumed that it wasn’t. even when the blood was minimal, he could feel her tugging at the fabrics of his shirt, trying to shield her eyes from the screen.

agata didn’t mean to make fun of her, it was just amazing to him -- he was so desensitized to it, it wasn’t something that he knew anyone that was scared of it; not in his immediate group. little innocent things like that were what attracted him to her the most, he loved that she was still able to feel fear over silly things like a horror movie. that wasn’t to say that he was fearless, but he was far more scared of someone coming to shoot him in his sleep than he was of a ghost haunting their apartment. his fears were semi - realistic, but also something that may have seemed entirely out of the question to someone like her. a ghost might have been more realistic to her. “ yes you are. ” he told her, though he wasn’t going to do anything to pull her face out of his sleeve. he wouldn’t force her to watch anything; had she told him to turn it off right now, he would have. “ i dunno, it’s really not that bad to me. is it bothering you? ” he asked, more concerned that she might have felt sick from watching it than the fact that she was making some kind of accusation at him with that statement. she already knew the kinds of things he did, he didn’t need to feed into her thoughts and ruin her opinion of him anymore.
