Hi, I'm so glad you're open! Do you have any recs with middle-aged Andreil?

The term ‘middle-aged’ gave me a bit of a headache here, since people tend to interpret it in different ways (it seems to cover anywhere from 30 to 50, depending on who you ask). Here I’ve included mostly fics where at least one of them has reached 30.

‘Aged-up’ characters are fairly common in AUs or post canon fics featuring lawyers, teachers, or social workers (sometimes as post-retirement careers, see also our tag page under AUs - jobs ). Some parenting fics also feature more mature Andreil.

Andrew Minyard never expected much of his life and found much more in David Wymack and his lot in Palmetto. His diner means working all day and meeting all kinds of people, but it’s his and he wouldn’t want it any different. Not as long as he can pay for his twin’s study. As one day Neil Josten stumbles into his diner for an interview for a job at Wymack’s transportation company, Andrew senses that his life will change in ways he’s never anticipated.

This lights a fire in her to uncover more about Kevin, the biggest lingering question mark on their team. Kevin is closed off and none of them really know the man behind his latest mask. She couldn't have picked a better time. With Jean away in California and neither of them talking while he and Kevin are getting eviscerated by the press in the wake of Riko's death, Kevin isn't exactly finding it easy to keep himself together. This has an emphasis on the growing friendship between Kevin and Renee, and the friendship dynamics between Kevin and Andrew. This is from Renee's POV.

Whether it was exy star, celebrity hunk, ruthless player, insufferable asshole, traitorous bitch... everyone has their take. The thing is Kevin Day doesn't even know who Kevin Day is. He's not sure he wants to know, either. Not with every part of him cracking under the weight of the Raven implosion, Jean's transition to USC, the impending court case, Riko's death and the fan backlash. Who he is, what he needs, and what he wants is irrelevant. And it always has been. A continuation of the story in 'Waiting You Out'. This is set just before the end of that fic, where Renee gets shut out of Kevin's life. This is also set around the end of 'The Sunshine Court'. The story is now from Kevin's POV.

Part 4: The Sleepover In The Middle Of Our Dorm [M, 4829 Words, Complete, 2026] A missing scene from my fic "Kicking It In". At the end of Chapter 3 and the start of Chapter 4 there is mention of Kevin, Andrew and Neil all falling asleep on the floor together after the big fight (and other events) of Chapter 3. This is what happens between the fight and them waking up, told from Andrew's POV. I wouldn't call this explicit Kandriel but there is definitely a lot of coding and implication there that it felt wrong not to tag as such. Do not read without reading Kicking It In, it won't make sense.

They would go on the run and never turn back, so the group of brothers packed there things and snuck out of the nest. It worked for a few months, they were free. But one day they had been spotted by The Butcher. They did their best to get away but they had no luck against Nathan Wesninski. Ichirou approached Riko with a deal. If Kevin, Jean, Riko, and Nate can win they will be set free. They could be a real family. If they lose it’s a death sentence for each of the runaway ravens. Riko has always wanted to prove ichirou and his father wrong and this might be his only way.

He’d been picking fights all week and Andrew continuously gave him that look. The one that said Neil was acting strange. In Neil’s defense, his periods had always been irregular and he had no reason to believe that one was even coming, hoping, desperately, that his T shots had finally decided to take this evidence that he could ever be considered a girl away. No such luck.
