Margrave Gautier and Duke Fraldarius
ok, brainworm time...this will be a bit of a long one
so idk how many of you are familiar with the f/ire e/mblem series, but these two are from the t/hree houses title--sylvain jose gautier and dorothea arnault. sylvain is infamous in-game for being a serial womanizer, flirting with just about anything that moves...though it stems from a sense of self-loathing and misanthropy as a result of the crest system that virtually controls the country. he was born with a crest--a symbol of power that imbues him with some degree of literal power and the ability to wield powerful weapons. his crest-less older brother tried to kill him at least once over this fact. he's well aware that most people he's met and the ladies that propose to him only value him for his bloodline and his crest.
dorothea, on the other hand, is a street-urchin-turned-songstress at the most renowned opera house in the country, attending the officer's academy in hopes of finding a noble (or someone well-off at least) to secure her future. she quickly sees through sylvain in their supports--but also sees a bit of a kindred spirit in him. she has no crest, but was highly desired only for her looks and voice during her time with the opera.
these two are among the few pairings in the game that i get particularly unwell about because they just seem to match each other so well.......they want to see each other for who they plainly are. (and i like to put sylvain in a jar, shake him around and observe him, i think he's so fascinating)
in their support conversations, they talk about how they would stay with each other until they're an old grandma and grandpa...to get to really know each other and have that real connection they've both been craving their whole lives.
and so. that led me to a thought. during the management of the gautier territory and attempts to reconcile with the territory and people at the northern border, he...puts on a little weight. it gets very cold where they live, so it wouldn't be too uncommon for him to get a little heavier every winter, right? (me treating him like he's a bear trying to hibernate 0///0)
in short order, dorothea discovers she likes it. sylvain, heartened by the discovery and then subsequently distracted by his duties, exits the winter significantly heavier than he was the year before...letting himself get spoiled by his beloved and wise wife (domesticated, she would half-jokingly call it)
i have little short stories and vignettes i'd like to write for the different scenes i drew...i'll post those separately as i finish them, but i wanted to put all of these together for progression's sake. i have another set of these in mind as well, but i wanted to share these because i was having so much fun........
