One of the things that Qrow was still getting used to at Beacon was just how loud it could be.  Back at home, while the clan could make their fair share of noise, there wasn't any sort of nearby city to have to deal with.  And sometimes, he missed the silence of the forest, of being able to look up at the sky and see seemingly endless amounts of stars.

It was at those times that he tended to retreat into himself, doing his best to avoid the rest of his team, including his sister. Especially his sister; he and Raven could read each other with little more than a glance, sometimes, and he didn't particularly feel like having his feelings dissected by his twin right now.

He thought he'd managed to find a good spot to spend some time on his own, enjoying what little quiet he could, but their team leader, Summer, had found him.  

To be perfectly honest, Qrow wasn't quite sure what to think about Summer yet.  She always seemed to be bubbly and happy, a lot like their other team member, Tai.  Both of which were in sharp contrast to the somewhat feral Branwen twins.

"You spend all your time alone," she said, and Qrow raised an eyebrow at that statement.

"I'm pretty sure I'm with the rest of the team 90 percent of the time," he retorted, finally looking over at STRQ's team leader.  "What, you comin' to get me for some trust-building exercises or somethin'?"

Considering half of the team consisted of him and Raven, that wouldn't be the WORST idea, but he didn't have any idea what that would entail.  

Truth be told...., Qrow was lonely, and had been (except for Raven) for about as long as he could remember.  He WANTED to have friends, WANTED to be with people, but a very large part of him was afraid to get close to anyone.  Being around him was bad luck, after all.  He was still figuring out how to be around people that weren't the clan.

Some Random Sentence Starters // Accepting

A slightly bitter laugh leaves him when he hears Salem's words.  He knows she's trying to help, trying to make him feel better for the mistake he'd literally just made....., but his mistakes got people killed.  

"Then I should be the smartest bastard in all of Remnant," he practically growls out, taking a swig from the glass in front of him.  Honestly, if it hadn't been Salem who had found him, he would have questioned how she'd found him.  But she'd always had her ways of tracking people down, and he didn't question it anymore.

"Haven't really had too many successes lately."  Or very much at all, not since getting into Beacon.  

He immediately froze and tensed, but sadly there is no chance that Qrow would stop seeing him and let go if James stopped breathing for a moment. He crossed his arms on his chest defensively, which didn’t help much. He can feel the jacket pull at his shoulders and he doesn’t like it.

“What do you want, Qrow?” Ironically enough, he feels severely underdressed without his uniform.

The way that Ironwood crossed his arms over his chest did wonders for him in that jacket.  Qrow let out a low whistle, very obviously looking him over again.

"Just wanted to tell you how good you look.  I mean, you look damn good in your uniform too, but...., I see you in that all the time."

"Step it up, Qrow. At least give him a wolf whistle."

This is more than he ever needed to know. The advice, however, is sound.

With the air of a person making an alliance they aren’t convinced about, he slowly holds out his knuckles for a fist bump.

Major squinting.

“……………………………………………..” “…As if. It’s in the trees, or nothing.

"I have this weird urge to go out in the middle of the woods and have sex now. Anyone else? Just me?"

“Don’t go down this dark path.”

Behind the mug, Winter’s face colors – subtle, perhaps, but still present – as he so simply calls her out on her attempt at brushing incidents under the rug. She chooses not to acknowledge any of those rather graceless slips, and instead takes another long drink from the mug. Enjoying her coffee while it’s still hot.

“…this isn’t a break?”

His snark is not appreciated, but the coffee is. Silently, she picks up the mug and takes a slow sip. “Have you ever known me to have a hangover?”
