I posted this on tiktok and instagram the other day but also figured it was worth posting here 🤷

Did you know, that Genshin Impact's Knave and DC's Harley Quinn, despite all of their physical and personal differences, share a common name?

One of the characters from the play "Commedia Dell'Arte" is Harlequin/Arlecchino, who generally acts as a servant who is light-hearted, yet also clever, resourceful, and is constantly attempting to sabotage his master, Pierro, in order to get with his love interest Columbine.

Harley Quinn was named by Paul Dini. He had a couple ideas, but eventually landed on the version we know today- a play on "Harlequin". I think that it's interesting they named her after a character known for constantly thwarting his master, and then going on to make Harley be completely infatuated by the Joker. I'm not sure if Harley betraying and leaving the Joker was the intention the entire time, but I think that this could be used as evidence that maybe it was.

I believe it's pretty well known by this point that Genshin's Fatui Harbingers were all given code names after Commedia Dell'Arte characters, so no further explanation there.

As well as the original written story of the two being tagged as "Frans" in a wayback machine

That's not to say you're not allowed to headcanon it as father-daughter and such, you are fully within your right. That doesn't change the creator's original intent though

I also don't like fanon swap/blueberry wtv that monstrosity was, but i also think most others also don't like it either

n ... pls dont maim me for this ... but i am not a huge fan of shattered dream. it's a cool idea, but it's liek smth that is literalyl impossible in canon- which ig is the purpose of an au in a lot of cases, but I still just don't like that part ... n also people used shattered for angst, at least when I was a more active participant in the fandom (~2021/22) which annoys me to hell and back because there's plenty of angst material in dreamtale canon for dream

In Star Rail, Aeons are called [name] THE [path] rather than in Genshin or Honkai, where it's [Archon/God/Herrscher] OF [Element/Concept].

Aeon's are higher beings [img 1], and are physical manifestations of the concepts that are their paths. Nanook IS Destruction, Xipe IS the Harmony, Aha IS Elation- Whereas Herrschers and Archons are only representations of that concept or can bend that concept to their will. Venti/Barbatos isn't freedom itself, but rather someone who represents and/or grants freedom. Kiana/Sirin isn't actually the void, but can bend the void to their will.
