Here's a Christmas Eve dump thread of my achievements of 2018. Presented a game in Disneyland. Sold a non exclusive license to a post jam game jam game. Did fairly well in two Ludum Dare jams. Worked on two different game prototypes (finished one). Spent 6 months in Brazil.
In January I presented my mobile game Cereus at Casual Connect in DisneyLand. Met a lot of awesome people. A couple of months ago I stopped support on Cereus after switching from paid to ads to see how it would change the revenue - it went from little to nothing. Later, Cereus.

Around the same time as I was presenting Cereus in DisneyLand, I sold a NonExclusive license for my most popular post-jam game, Deckest Dungeon. I gave all the money to the team. DD still has daily players on Itch:

In April, for Ludum Dare 41, I worked with a team to create Someone Is Wrong On The Internet - a game where you Argue with people on all your favorite social media and news sites like Twibber, Breddit, and CMM. Out of 2019 games it was ranked 151 Overall, 76 in Fun, 37 in Audio, and 36 in Humor.

In May I decided to stop working on the Prototype for Skylands 2, a follow up to a game jam game that many people still ask me to make. Worked on it from Feb til May. I'll get back to it at some point. Or reuse the code to make a grid RPG.

On June 1st I moved to Brazil for almost the full extent that my VISA would allow: 176 days. Spent the time with my girlfriend, learning Portuguese and Brazilian Culture.
In July, trying to find "that new look" for my games, I played with 2D sprites combined with lights and shadows in 3D settings.

In August, for Ludum Dare 42, I worked with a team to create Proto Dash. Did a 17 hour day in the middle and slept an average of 4 hours a night. This was my best recieved game jam - out of 2013 games, Proto Dash ranked 34 Overall, 122 in Innovation, 37 in Audio (again), and 97 in Mood.
For the next two weeks I worked day and night making a post-jam version of ProtoDash and launched it on Itch to coincide with the Ludum Dare 42 results. This resulted in almost no players, so I tried New Grounds where it got some actual attention. It got Daily 4th place for Sept 11 and 9th place for best of September.

Just yesterday I finished an alpha prototype for my next game, "The Abandoned", A visual novel style turn-based RPG with an accuracy/timing battle mechanic. A project in collaboration with: https://www.instagram.com/c0hil/. Here's to hoping that in 2019 my creations get some more serious attention.

All of the achievements this year were on top of running a freelance Interaction Design business.
And as a final note: I'm always looking for collaborators who want to experiment with ideas and make some awesome games, so send me a message!
