I got my wish of meeting a Band Camp Boyfriend fan today!!
I know you mentioned you follow the Tumblr so if you see this I want you to know you absolutely made my weekend!!!!! I'm sorry I didn't even catch your name because I was so swept up in the moment and we had to clear the room and run off to the next event, but I hope you see this and I hope you don't mind me recounting the tale because I want to remember it forever.
There was an otome panel at Otakon and we had some downtime before it began so the host suggested we go ahead and share our favorite otome boys, and started passing around a mic. My heart started pounding so hard because I was like "Oh my gosh, should I mention Band Camp Boyfriend?" and hearing everyone gush about their faves reassured me I was among my people and would regret chickening out so I went for it. I got up to shoutout my boy Impey Barbicane and also mentioned Band Camp Boyfriend as seen here in this video.
I went back to my seat with my heart pounding and hands shaking because I’m not good with speaking in front of hundreds of people. I was texting my parents about what I’d done when someone on the other side of the room gets on the mic and says, “My favorite boys are from a new game called BAND CAMP BOYFRIEND AND THEIR NAMES ARE TOM AND POPTART!!!!” OMG I gasped and leaped to my feet and jumped for joy and screamed “I love you!!!” because I had to get the emotions out somehow hahaha. Everyone cheered. It sounds like a "and then everyone clapped" story, but it was real and I couldn't have imagined a better way in a million years to meet someone who had played our game.
Anyways, then I sat there for the next ten minutes trying not to tear up. You all know I have a lot of emotions when it comes to this game! Thank you, friend, for blessing me with such an amazing memory today, and thank you to all of you who follow this blog and love Band Camp Boyfriend. It really means the world to both me and my sister! My heart is so full today.
