Im bored and need moivation

Some of my favorite Jabber panels, and what sparked me to go down this rabbit hole of taking a closer look at the way things are written in Gachiakuta. In Rudo's first encounter with Jabber, the latter gets thrown against a wall with some graffiti on it.

Most of the graffiti we we see in Gachiakuta is written in the language of the world, but this is one of the few moments where we see English graffiti, and an excellent addition to the scene by Urana's graffiti artist. (I'll talk more about the English graffiti in Canvas Town in another post because I think it's fucking sick worldbuilding.)

Each time we see Jabber in these panels, we get a snippet of a word. It becomes clearer each time. I've cropped it to focus on it.

We can see "HEA" -> "ART??SS" -> "HEAR??E"

Then the panel zooms out and we see the full word: "HEARTLESS" with Jabber slumped over next to it, having just stabbed himself with his own poison.

When the poison takes control of his body and he loses himself to it, the word becomes abundantly clear and bold: HEARTLESS

Such a subtle thing in such a big moment, and it really defines how the reader and other characters perceive Jabber.
