Is this dog okay
I reblog this at least once a week because I connect with this dog on an emotional level
You Talked Me Into It: Chapter 6 - What the Heart Wants
I couldn't begin to understand all the emotions I was feeling. The whole way to Eric's hotel room, I was light as air and my heart was fluttering and pounding against my chest. I was excited and afraid, but I was being carried along by Eric's charisma. As he opened the door, I suddenly felt incredibly shy. I was not a virgin. I had been down this road before, but for some reason around him, I felt so timid. He must have sensed it, as he stopped in front of the bed and took my hand. "If you're not comfortable with this, all you gotta do is say so. We can try another time." He said gently. "I just never have done anything like this. It's so fast and crazy." I said nervously. "But we only live once, Dal-Gal," he pushed a strand of hair from my eyes as he spoke, "I live by my heart. People told me all my life I would never be able to do what I do. They doubted me, and there were times I probably shoulda givin' in. I didn't, and it's because I followed my heart. Some things you just know, ya know?" His hands gently caressed my cheek and down my neck as he leaned in to kiss me. It was another one of those beautifully soft, sweet and hungry kisses. I felt the air go out of me and all at once it seemed that there was no sound except a small whisper from Eric. "If you don't touch me soon, I might stop breathin'." My hands went up to his shoulders and caressed down his shirt to his chest. He lifted his shirt, and, as it pulled over his head, I found myself staring in amazement at his chest. My hands seemed to move their own accord as they traced across his chest to the shoulders and down his arms. I heard him take in a breath as if he had actually stopped breathing. He was just as nervous as I was. "I'm gonna turn off the light." he said and he moved to the switch on the wall. I was grateful the moment the dark covered us. As much as I wanted to see him in all his glory, I was a little afraid of him seeing me inall of mine. Somehow I felt safer in the dark, and I stopped shaking. "This way I can just work by Brielle." He said with a hint of a laugh and I felt myself giggle. His hands roved over me and he found the edge of my shirt. Gently pulling it over my head, he came closer and pressed his body to mine. I felt his hands on my hips, wrapping around me, and feeling my make it back. His touch was electric, and I felt him unclasp my bra before I had a moment to even think about it. I was kissing his neck, making my way across his jaw-line to his beard. He steped slightly back so that he could take my breasts in his hands and his thumbs lightly caressed my nipples. A shudder ran through me and I gasped. "Oh you like that." He said, and his voice was soft and huskey. Eric was moving so slow and careful, and I wanted so much to just dive on him. Trying to contain my impulses I pressed against him and kissed his neck. He guided me to the bed. Laying me down, he carefully unzipped the zippers on my boots, and I heard him fall to the floor. Then, he worked at the fastener on my pants, and slid them to the floor. He moved on top of me, his chest touching my breasts and I felt like I could just melt into the bed. As our mouths feasted on each other, I savored the warmth of him. I felt his hands on my hips and he moved along my ribs and back down to my thigh. I couldn't take it and we had only just begun. Eric said, "I was hoping to take my time." I let out a small cry and protest and I felt his hands reach behind my knee and pull at my thigh. "I guess the heart wants what the heart wants." he said into my ear and kissed me as I felt him gently slide into me. He was very long and it felt as if I was not going to be able to handle him, but our bodies felt made for each other. As he moved in and out of me, slowly he kissed me on my neck and my shoulders and ran his hands through my hair. I moved my hands along his sides, enjoying the curve of his muscles under my touch. The wave of euphoric joy crashed over me and I cried out gripping him closer to me with a small scream. I felt him release as well and he collapsed his weight. on top of me. As he rolled to the side, he was laughing. It was his joyous laughter I found infectious because I began to laugh as well. "What are you laughing about?" I asked. "I'm not exactly sure. Just felt right, ya know?" He pulled me close to him so that I was laying on his chest and kissed the top of my head.  I let out a deep sigh. "How you doin'?" He asked and I felt laughter rise out of me. He laughed too. "I don't think I've ever felt this way." I said feeling lightheaded. "Get some sleep, babe." He sounded exhausted, "Cass will come by when it's time to get on the road, but we have a few hours." I could hear him falling asleep as he talked. On the road tomorrow. I told myself not to think. Just enjoy the warmth of Eric. The feeling of him there was intoxicating, but I couldn't fight logic. This night was what it was. A fling. A one nighter. The things he said were probably things he had said to other women. They might have fallen for it the same as I had. This was one night of many, and I felt so empty after being so full. I carefully moved Eric's arm off me and moved slowly to the edge of the bed. Getting out, I carefully and quietly got dressed. I gathered my purse and crept out the door. As I got in the elevator, I knew my heat was breaking.

You Talked Me Into It: Chapter 5 - Icurus
A taxi ride later, and we were at a small hole in the wall place ordering drinks. We ate, and I noticed myself laughing at his stories and his lust for life. "So you really did get lost tonight?" He asked as he took my hand and caressed it slowly with his thumb. "Yeah. I even got turned around in the halls, but I saw Dean and that girl, Maggie. They helped me out." I told him. I was mentally trying not to blush, but I knew it wasn't happening. "Maggie and Dean are ok. They have an odd relationship, but I guess it works." He said. I gave him a questioning look. "Odd how?" I asked. He laughed. "They function dysfunctionaly, ma. You would have to see it to know what I mean." He said. "And what about you?" I found myself asking the question before I knew what I was saying. He leaned forward. "I'm a hopeless romantic, and I believe at love at first sight." He picked my hand up and kissed it. "There is no way you are serious!" I said with a mocking tone. "Wha? I do! It isn't crazy. Don't be hatin.'" Enzo said and I felt a little sad he seemed hurt. "It just feels far fetched to me that you could meet me once and be in love with me." I told him. "Ok, maybe it isn't love yet. But it's like I'm being pulled towards you, Dallas. Like I'm flying through space about to crash into somethin' and explode. I gotta see this through to know." His eyes seems to shine in the lights of the resturant. Thinking on it a moment, I realized that I had similar feelings. I was trying to fight them as logic was telling me not to listen to this tiny voice inside me. It was saying "Do it. Enjoy this moment for what it is." Could I do that? "What is it like for you," I started, "traveling everywhere? Do you have a permenant home somewhere? Family? Is it lonely?" He seemed pleasantly surprised. "It isn't easy, but yeah, I got an apartment in Florida It's not far from the beach. I see my family up North when I can. It's a rockstar life, but hard as work, baby." He took a drink. "Enzo, if we started something," at this he expression brightened, "IF we do, how do I know if I am getting you or the character we all see on TV?" I was still dodging the thought of actually getting romantic with him. "First, I am always myself with you. You don't get an act, love. It's all me, pie and unfiltered." At this he took both my hands in his and locked his eyes to mine. "And second, you call me Eric. If not on stage with you, Dal-Gal." My heart seemed to melt, and I think it was visible because Eric leaned closer and whispered. "We got tonight. Let's go from this moment and fly with waxen wings." It was cheesy and lame, but I was moved by it. I kissed him, a sweet touch of our lips, and he kissed back with a need and hunger that deepened the kiss and sent a wave of excitement through me. When we parted, Eric looked around the room. "I need the check over here!" He shouted and we both smiled at each other knowingly.

Don't Look Down: Chapter 2 - In Security
"Ouch! Son of a bitch!" I said with my head turned away from my arm. The cut on my arm had some bits of glass in them, but there were no deep ones on my shoulder. That just had bruising. One of the docs backstage was helping to patch me up, but I couldn't watch. Anyone else bleeding was fine, but my own blood always made me faint. It's supposed to be IN my body, not on the outside. "Hold still, Evers. I only have one or two more to get." Said the doc. I clenched my teeth. I was getting more pissed by the minute. I needed to put a lid on it before it got me in trouble. "Is she in here?" I heard a deep gruff voice speaking in the hallway and I felt sick to my stomach. In the instant that his voice registered in my head, I put on my best blank face. The man they called Triple H (or sir at my level) came into the room. "How is it looking Leo?" He asked the doctor. Dr. Leo plucked one last shard of glass from my arm. "A few stitches. Maybe some antibiotics. I think she's got this handled." Dr. Leo smiled warmly at me and then went back to working on my arm. Stitches were going to suck. "Bronwen Evers?" Triple H pointed at me as he search his mind. "Yes, sir, but they call me Harley." I said in a neutral and quiet voice. "Ok, Harley, they call me Paul, or H if that feels more professional to you." He said, and he was genuinely nice about it. He sat in a chair in front of me in the little room and acted as if Dr. Leo wasn't there. "That was a brave thing you did out there." He said. "It's my job, sir," I answered. "Job or not, you did a huge favor to a lot of people and you impressed a few people." Paul said. I shook my head and looked away from his calculating eyes. "Funny thing," he said with a grin leaning back in his chair, "I was just looking over your personnel file yesterday." Dr. Leo, having finished wrapping up my arm, made a nod towards us and left the room. I focused on the bandage on my arm trying not to look at Triple H. "You want to tell me what got you kicked off the force?" He asked bluntly. My jaw clenched, but I met his eyes. Losing my job with the police had altered my life in huge ways. The sting of the cuts in my arms were nothing to how deep that cut. "They say I have anger issues. That I have a bad attitude." I told him. He snorted. "And what do you think?" "I think that is a matter of perspective, sir." I added the sir so I didn't seem like a smart ass. "The security issues we have been having have caused Mr. McMahon to want us to put together a special security team. Each member of the team will be assigned to a talent, and they will shadow them through the shows and to their hotels after." I looked at him dumbfounded. "Don't you guys think these fellas can handle if themselves?" I asked with a smirk. I team my fingers over my messy hair. I hadn't spiked it tonight, but the incredibly short cut felt like it was standing on end. "Yes, but sometimes fans get a bit worked up. It isn't 24/7. It's just showtime and after - when a fan is most likely to get frisky. We invested big money into these guys. The Sheild v. Bullet Club story has people frothing at the mouth." Triple H said. "Then why not edit the storyline? Move in a different direction?" I asked. "Because this storyline is generating big money. We can afford to put together a good task force of people willing to get in the way of danger." He was smiling like the cat that ate the cream. "You are putting me on this gig?" I asked. He leaned in to me. "Yup." He said and my mouth dropped open. "There is no way I'm the right fit for that." "Sure you are. Tomorrow morning, when you check in with Ben, you will get the full rundown. There will be more travel involved, so get prepared." Paul started looking over my arm. He stood and walked toward me and gently life's my arm and inspected my shoulder. "How are you right now?" He asked. I shrugged. "I'm not too bad, sir." I said. "Good. Come with me." I followed him out the door and through the back hallways of the arena. I could hear shouting as we approached a locker room. "I can handle myself, you know. I don't need a babysitter." Said a Georgia drawl. I began to sweat. "AJ, try to see it from a business standpoint. We have to protect our investments." It was Vince, and he was speaking in low tones. "But you are saying you are putting her with me. How is that protection?" Styles said at the moment Paul and I walked in the room. I had reached the boiling point. "I see things coming you don't, Styles. And, I think I did a decent job of taking one for the team." I said before I realized what I was saying. My vision was starting to be splotchy, and I knew I needed to get my rage in check. Everyone stopped talking and AJ finally threw up his hands. "Fucking unreal." He said, and Paul moved closer to the superstar. "She's going to see you to your hotel room. Tomorrow night, she's your shadow and your eyes. That way, you can perform without distraction." Paul said. AJ turned and looked at each of us in turn. "It ain't like I got a choice." He said. I was focusing on my anger by doing the internal exercises my therapist gave me, so I didn't hear the rest of the smoothing over that Vince and Paul were giving to AJ. By the time they were leaving the locker room, I had managed to get control. "Get him to the hotel and then report in the morning." Triple H said. I nodded as he walked out and looked to AJ. Styles picked up this gear bag and slug it over his shoulder. "You coming?" He asked and I followed him as he stomped out the door.
Don't Look Down: Chapter 1 - Rowdy Nights
I hated these late nights. There were too many drunken assholes with something to prove. Not all wrestling fans were like that, but I always seemed to get the section of the arena that held most of the biggest dicks in the fandom. Tonight was like the last few, but with the matches between Rollins and Styles heating up, you never knew what was going to happen. The Sheild getting back together was a huge story angle, but once they started conflict with The Bullet Club, the crowds literally split down the middle. With two talents like these guys being the main focus of the feud, it could be chaos. We, in security, had been warned to be extra mindful of the crowds. Anyone being a slouch in WWE security would be fired on site. I took my job more serious than most because this was the best job I could get with my work history, so I never paid attention to the shows, just the people. The main event had ended and The Shield had left the arena. I was at the top of the ramp watching AJ Styles walking back up to exit. He wasn't far from me, just about 12 feet away, when a flash of something caught my eye. I went on autopilot as I bolted from my spot and closed the length between us. "Code Red 4-11." I shouted into my mic. I heard the sounds of other security reacting to my location. I shoved AJ aside as best I could (he's pretty tough to manhandle) and took the full blow of a whiskey bottle. The illegally brought in bottle had been of good quality and was a heavy glad with a metal plaquered label on the front. Still, the big bastard that had swung with it in his hand had enough force to bust it over my shoulder and arm. The glass cut into me, and the whiskey burned my cuts, but I tackled the man, and he went down. It wasn't that I was that strong, but more that he was that drunk. I lay on the floor for a moment with the wind knocked out of me. The biligerent man got up, but was soon pinned by the other guys in security. I rolled over to get my valence and stand up. A hand came out to help and I took it, wincing from the pain of the cuts I had. I was pulled to my feet and looked into the eyes of AJ Styles. He was shaking his head in disbelief. "Lady, you alright?" He asked. I motioned to my arm. "Do I look alright?" I asked smugly. He rolled his eyes and let out a sigh. "Yeah that was a dumb question" he said, "Do you need help?" "No, but we better get you backstage before this blows up." I said and I put a hand on his shoulder to escort him backstage. "This is going to hurt in the morning." I muttered.

A Twist of Fate: Chapter 40 - Wheels on the Bus
After getting showered and changed, we grabbed duffle bags and jackets and headed to the RV bus. Dean stood next to the door for a moment and seemed to hesitate. "What?" I asked. He turned to me and leaned against the door. "This is to keep us contained and out of the public view. It's big and shiny, but it's also like a cage for us." He moved his tounge around his mouth as if thinking, and then I saw his jaw clench. "They are trying to own us," Dean said. "Well, they kinda do don't they?" I said hesitantly. Dean sighed. "It's just that the more people back me into a corner and push me into a mold-" "The more you resist and start going for their throats." I finished. He punched the side of the bus and I saw the panel gave way just slightly and the fiberglass popped right back out. He put his hand up to his lip and then shock out his fingers. "What do you want to do?" I asked. Dean stood glaring off into the distance. He sighed heavily and turned to me shaking his head. "I'm not riding around in a tin can. I'm not their toy." Dean said in a low growl. "No, but what about the title?" I asked. The fire in his eyes blazed. "Fuck this shit." He opened the door and stomped into the bus. Our driver had left a note : Be back soon. Dean crumpled it up and thre it on the floor. Even with the luxury the RV had, it was still a cramped space as I followed Dean to the back area where there were sleeping accommodations. It was really smaller than it looked, but we both got into the little room and dropped our gear on the floor. "There is a kitchenette in there." I nodded back the way we had come. Dean looked at me. "You going domestic on me?" He asked. I laughed. "Hardly. It was the first kitchen I have seen in a while." I said and Dean snorted. "How much travel time do we have?" Dean asked. I calculated in my head. "If we leave in the next hour, about 6 hours with stops. We don't have to be there till tomorrow night though, so we could overnight somewhere." As I sat down on the bed, I looked around the room and felt clostrphobic. "We got a rental?" He asked. "I could book is one of we needed it. Probably not going to be a good one this short notice." I said. Dean slid onto the bed next to me, and kissed me. It was gentle, but I felt restraint behind it. He bit my lip, and I reacted with a moan. "Get on top of me." He said with a low husky voice. "What? Here? Now? The driver could be back any minute." I said. "Then you should get started now before he comes back." He unzipped his pants and pulled them down showing me how ready he was. "And, shame on you for not locking the door." He pulled at my jeans and I rolled over pressing my body against his. He had his other hand on his cock, and was slowly rubbing on it. "Maggie, damnit, I need you or I won't be able to think clearly." He unbuttoned my jeans and pulled them so that the zipper gave free. He looked down our bodies. "No panties, Mag? For real?"his eyes held surprise and joy. "We haven't done laundry yet." I said. He practically ripped my jeans off then. "Bullshit! You are being a dirty whore!" He said with with a slight giggle and I smiled as he lay back down on the bed and motioned to me. "Ride me, Maggie. Fuck me stupid." He said. I climbed on top of him and his length slid into me. The feeling of him entering me made me cry out and I saw him grinning like a wolf. "That's my girl." He said. I began grinding slowly into him, my hips doing most of the work. He reached sound me and grabbed my ass and squeezed me with desperation. "Faster, babe. Break me." It seemed to be a dare, and I felt that need to compete with his desire rise in me. I rode him hard until we both came hard and breathless. The bus was hot and sticky without it being on, and I was feeling a bit cramped as I slid off of Dean. "Much better." He said trying to catch his breath. He stood up and put his jeans back on. He looked at me stifling in the tiny room to get my own pants on. "You can't be going around with out underwear." He said. "Not your thing?" I asked. "You're my thing, Magpie." He kissed me and I tasted cinnimon and sweat. "Get your stuff and let's go." Dean said. "What?" I asked startled. "Fuck them. I'm no one's toy." Dean said and he headed to the front of the RV. Turning around, I saw the mess we left on the bed, and I knew what Dean's statement to The Authority was.

You Talked Me Into It: Chapter 3 - You Know You Wanna
I felt so awkward in the halls back stage in the arena. Nick had wanted me to wear a dress, but I just couldn't do it. I wore a deep blue v neck top that had a black lace accent on one shoulder. My jeans were casual, and faded slightly, but they still fit my body in all the best places. I had let my dark brown shoulder length hair down and I was cursing myself for not having a decent color job. I had run late with getting my makeup on and traffic. I had also gotten lost too, and arrived just barely in time to take the seat Enzo, Eric, whatever had arranged for me. I had missed seeing him before they got started, the woman at the ticket window had told me. I knew texting him to tell him I was late was a no go. He wouldn't have his phone with him. It wasn't front row, but it was a great spot to watch the action. I hadn't been to a show in years, but I soon found myself caught up in the action. I knew some of the guys from the night before, and was excited when I saw them come out. Now, here I was backstage and I was starting to feel my palms sweat. I didn't know where I was going or what I was doing. I sat down on a bench and I must have looked really lost. "Hey, aren't you that bartender from last night?" It was Dean Ambrose, and a woman with a pixie haircut. I stood up. "That's me." I said shakily. "Enzo invited me to come to the show." Dean grinned widely and turned his head to look down the hall, but it was the woman that started talking to me. "E and Cass have a dressing room down this way. I can show you if you want?" She said. "That would be great." I said. Dean leaned over to her and kissed her forehead. "I'll see you in a few." He said, and the lady motioned for me to walk with her. "I'm Maggie. Maggie Riven." She said. "Dallas Maddox." I told her and smiled. "Don't be so shy, Dallas. These folks can smell fear and they will eat you alive." She winked at me, and I realized she was being nice. "I'll try. I'm so nervous." I said. "I know what you mean." She said. She stopped at a door and knocked on it. "Who it be?" A voice - Cass - mocked from the other side. "Maggie, and there is someone here to see Zo." She had rolled her eyes. The door opened and Cass stood there in a tee shirt and his wrestling briefs. He looked at me then at Maggie. "Thank you, Miss Maggie." He said. Maggie nodded and then gave me a small wave. Cass opened the door wider for me and motioned me in. It wasn't a big room, just a small room with a bathroom attached. "Well, look who decided to show up." Enzo said as he walked from the bathroom with a towel over his shoulder. He hadn't showered yet, and was still wearing the crazy pants he had worn to the ring just an hour earlier. "Sorry. I got lost." I said and it was still just as shakey has it had been when I talked to Maggie. What the hell, girl? Pull it together. "Honestly, I thought you may have gotten a lil chicken and backed out. It's a good thing I didn't take that bet, eh Cass?" They both laughed, but it didn't seem mean. I just stood there all awkward while they talked a bit more, and Cass grabbed his bag. He came over to me and hugged me. "Hope to see ya again sometime, Dallas." Then he turned and left. The shock of the hug from this bear of a man had me stunned, but I shook out of it when I turned to see Enzo standing there looking at me. "So." He said. "So." I said back. I was looking at his chest and had was taking in the look of him. I was logging his tattoos in my brain to ask him about them later. "Do you see somethin' you like, doll? He stepped a little closer to me and I blushed. "I..Its just..uh..well.." I was a freaking idiot and couldn't seem to string a sentence together. He smiled and took another step closer. "Are you for real blushing right now?" He widened his eyes at me in amazement. Licking his lips he took my hand gently and placed it on his chest. The feel of his skin under my hand sent a shiver through my body. "Is your heart beating as fast as mine, sweetheart?" I looked into his eyes, and felt a flood of feelings all at once. He let go of my hand and stepped back. Suddenly, without touching him, I felt colder and more empty than the few seconds before. "Lemme get cleaned up, and I am gonna take you out and treat you like a fucking queen." Enzo said, and his voice was full of excitement.

You Talked Me Into It: Chapter Three - First Texts
Enzo:Â What are you doing now? Dallas: I was trying to finalize the work schedules for the next two weeks. Enzo:Â Boring. Don't you have people for that? Dallas: I do it. It's my bar. Enzo:Â Yeah, but you have two very capable managers. What do you do for fun, lady? Dallas:Â I don't really have a lot of time for that. Enzo:Â Make time! Life is too short to not live it! Dallas:Â Well I have a lot of responsibility. I can't just shove it off on other people. Enzo:Â Who said that? All I'm saying is you are too pretty and too smart to waste life. Start taking chances and come out of that shell, cutie. Dallas:Â What is you fascination with me anyway? Is there not a million other women that you can chase? Enzo:Â Chase? Sweetheart, I ain't chasing no one. I think I got you already. Dallas:Â Oh really? Enzo:Â Yeah really. You keep texting with me don't you? And, I know you can't stop thinking about me. Dallas: How do you know that? Enzo:Â Because when our eyes met last night, I felt something. It was like electric and I know you felt it too. :::long pause::: Enzo:Â Well? Dallas:Â I don't know what to say. Enzo:Â Because I'm right. Dallas:Â Not nessacarily. Maybe it's just hormonal. Lust makes people think there is something there when it's not. Enzo:Â No offense, but if it's lust, I could find a solution to that pretty fast. Like you said, a million others out there. Dallas:Â Gee thanks. Enzo:Â I'm being honest, Dallas. That's how I know it ain't just me looking for a night's warmth. ::::another pause:::: Enzo:Â Btw, why did your parents name you Dallas? Dallas:Â It's my mom's hometown. I grew up there. Enzo:Â Dallas from Dallas. That's messed up! Didn't they love you? Lol Dallas: It could have been worse. My dad wanted to name me Kansas. Besides, your name sounds like a muppet, so I don't think you have room to talk. Enzo:Â LMAO! My real name is Eric you know. Dallas:Â I know. I looked it up. Enzo:Â Oh did you? Well yeah, I am Enzo in full character, and Eric when I'm not. Dallas:Â So who are you now? Enzo:Â Both baby. I am always both. Just one more than the other when I need to make the switch. :::pause::: Enzo:Â Now what are you doing? Dallas:Â I am not doing anything really. Enzo:Â Liar. You are doing something. Dallas:Â Nick is going through my closet. :-/ Enzo:Â You dressing up for me? Dallas:Â No! He's got crazy ideas. Enzo:Â I like your cousin. He's good people. Dallas: Yeah, he's a pain in the ass. He's all into this crap and I'm not letting him make me over. Enzo:Â No don't let him do that. I like you how you are. Dallas:Â You flirt more than any man I have ever met. Enzo:Â Then you have been meeting some deadbeats. Any man that doesn't look twice in your direction must need a head check.
You Talked Me Into It: Chapter 2 - Drop A Line
"Dallas, are you gonna sleep all day?" I woke up to Nick's voice and him poking me in the shoulder. I felt a crick in my neck and I sat up rubbing it. "So you want to tell me what this is?" Nick held a napkin up to my face and I tried to focus in on it. "That is a phone number." I said and I waved him off. Nick looked at it and then at me. "Which one gave you his number?" He asked. "The one with the stupid hair," I said. His mouth fell open and he sat down next to me and shoved up against me. "Enzo Amore gave you his phone number? Explain this." I turned to him and shrugged. I gave him the story. "He's right." Nick said. "About what?" I was surprised by him saying that and I felt a little hurt. "You don't every have fun. I don't remember the last time I heard you even talk about happy things. Everything is work and bills and responsibility." Nick said. "I am not that bad." I said standing up and ruffling my hair. "Yeah you are, and I am betting you believe it too." Nick walked over to the bar and started making coffee. I followed and sat down at the bar. "Why don't you step outside yourself just once and try something new. Maybe even have some fun. I think it might be good for you." Nick said. "What do you want me to do? Text that guy?" I asked. "Yes. I can see that he's got you curious. You blush when we mention him." Nick said and my hands went to my face. "I am not! He isn't even my type." I said. Nick grinned at me. "And just what is your type, Dal? Do you even know? When was the last time you have even been on a date?" "I.." I couldn't remember. Holy crap, when was the last time I went out? "You should text him. They are still in town. There is another show tonight." Nick winked at me. "I don't think that's a good idea." I said. "I do, unless you are scared." My cousin then stared making clucking noises at me. "The answer is no. Now, can we just get today started?" I asked. I had some spare clothes in the office and I was headed there to change. "Sure, but you were supposed to be off this morning." Nick said. "Yeah, well things change." I called back. *********************************************************************************************************** It was around lunch time that I started working on the books again. The numbers looked great, and the trends were showing that over the next few months, we would be making more than we had ever thought. As much as I was trying to focus on the accounting, I couldn't help but feel a gnawing at the back of my mind. Curiosity. It was eating at me, and causing me to think about Enzo. Picking up my phone and the napkin on my desk, I tried to think of something to say. Should I text him? I wasn't scared, was I ? I mean, what did it matter right? Plucking up the courage, I typed in the number and followed up with my message: Dallas: I think you left your phone number laying around. I wait patiently for what seemed like forever. Nothing came back. Ha. Nick can take that and shove it. I started to put the phone down, but it rang and I jumped. "Hello?" "I was wondering how long it would take ya to drop me a line." I could hear laughter in Enzo's voice. "I guess I am a little more adventurous than you thought." I said smugly. "Maybe so, mamma, but we can test that theory a bit more." He said with a sly tone. I was feeling butterflies again. What was it with this guy? "How?" I asked, but even I could hear my nerves making my voice shake. So much for acting tough. "Ohhhhh, so now you are really curious, eh? Well, how about you come and see me before the show. Then, maybe after we can go get a bite of somethin' and talk." Enzo said. I laughed. "I don't even know you." "I like hearing you laugh, doll." He said and I could tell he was smiling. "You want me to just come hang out back stage with you?" I asked. "Yeah, sure. Why not?" He asked, "How else will we get to know each other? I am on the road a lot, and there is only tonight to see ya, and then all we have is texts and phone calls," he said. "You act like there will be something going on after tonight," I said. "A man can dream, can't he?" I heard him put his hand over the phone and then he returned. "Look, Imma text you some details and you decide what ya wanna do. I can tell you that I would like to see you. I gotta go right now - photos and stuff. We can pass texts through the day if you want." Enzo said. "I... Really, what is your thing? Why are you interested in me?" Fumbling with my words, I felt stupid. "I guess you won't know unless you take a leap a faith, ma. You wanna show me you got it in you?" and he hung up the phone. I stared at it, and Nick walked in the office and looked at me with a questionining look. "What happened?" He asked. I just stared at the phone and it vibrated with a message. Nick picked up the phone. "Holy shit, Dallas!" he looked up at me and turned the phone around. Enzo: Ok, so the instructions on what to do when you get here are below. I hope you come because I can't get you out of my head.
