“Hmm.” he stated as he looked up at the sky, it was a good question. Though, many answers. It was here, in the right now, that he realized he hadn’t taken time to just lay still. Enzo was one to keep busy, and often times, he realized that he had to enjoy life as well.  “That’s interesting. Though I am quite curious in your language.” he stated with a smile.  “Would you risk it? breaking the law?” he asked with a raised brow. She didn’t have to answer if she didn’t want to, but he was curious. “So when do these shooting stars occur?” he looked over at the moon, it wasn’t quite full, but it was bright.

  “i’ve never been one to follow rules but i can’t just spill all my secrets to you now.” she responded, hands moved back to check the ground before she laid against it. addie couldn’t help but admit to herself this was was more than pleasant, the soft tone of her company, crackling fire and a starry sky. it was all too perfect, like a lulling moment before a goblin king appears. “i’ve seen two -- maybe you aren’t paying attention enough.” addie glanced at him from the ground, an all too playful smile crept onto her face. “did you know, shooting stars are simply things that are coming into our atmosphere?” 

Theo smiled at her and brought in his bag of tools to start working. “Do you mind if I take everything off the shelves?” He asked, pointing to all the books and knick knacks. He couldn’t start working on them until they were all cleaned off. He started to pull off a few books and neatly stack them on the desk. “Ah, well, I’m guessing you’re a very busy person then. I’ll be quick about this,” he said. He glanced at a few of the books, reading some of the titles before setting them down.

  “oh! no please do what you need to -- do you want help?” she offered, setting her things down on her desk adeline put her full attention on him.  “i can’t help with much but at least make moving the things easier and quickly. oh, no, actually you would be surprised at how free my time can be.” at least well she was at the school she had the time, it was easily filled up when adeline forced herself around her family. it’s why she loved being away from them, a surprisingly new freedom was found. “i teach the fae, i’ don’t want to presume species but i can always offer any answers you may have on the topics.” motioning as he grabbed the books before picking up a few of them herself. 

Her smile made him smile, and whether it was the few drinks she had or not, he found it contagious. Like he didn’t have to worry about anything in the world, that was refreshing within itself. “I see that.” he nodded his head. “Rich in happiness.” after all, happiness could mean the world, and wealth could leave one feeling rich but empty inside. Leaning back, his arms rested behind his head, so he was looking up. The flames dancing along as he could feel the heat against his skin. Raising a brow at her words “Tongue of the fae…..why treason?” he asked curiously.  Though she looked serious, he can see in her eyes, a smile. No later than a few seconds, she smiled anyways. The sounds of the crickets chirping, the nightfall, and the flames burning the wood, he could see how she was comfortable. It did bring him a sense of calm “Ah.” he stated in reply. “I think, it’s a beautiful one.” he chuckled a bit, maybe he was a softy, but he enjoyed moments like these. Unexpected, allowing the silence to fill the gap between them.

  her head fell back, staring up at the stars as he spoke. between the atmosphere and the soft conversation it was a lulling moment as much as she was tempted to shut her eyes the sky stole her gaze. “how many people can say they have that in wealth?” addie questioned, his brought up laughter from her. it was a joke she should have guessed only her kind would understand, “oh it’s a rather old thing my family would say, if you taught the language of our people to a none fae, people could come to take you for breaking the law. though i rarely ever met anyone other than older generations that talk about it...  right? i think it’s a good sounding tale.”

Theo turned around to see the woman standing in the door way of her office. “Sorry. They told me it was a good time to come in here,” he said. “I’m just here to fix the shelves. Heard they were loose. Definitely a hazard.” He turned back around to continue working on the shelves, but then realized she was probably here because she had more pressing matters than him fixing a few pieces of wood. “I can come back if you’d like.”

   “hm?” she turned her attention from the spot she’d been zoning off too, blinking to the boy. how long had he’d been there? should she be expecting people? adeline quickly put on a large smile, nodding along to his words. “oh i see, i’m sorry no one told me someone was coming by when i some with them -- oh no now is perfect if it’s a good time for you of course. i thought perhaps i forgot a private lesson or something for a moment.”

Smiling, well this was one interesting encounter. Considering it was everyday he finds himself spotting another laying by a tree. Though the more he thought about it, the more he could see it was unique. “Certainty an encounter I won’t forget.” and he would commit it to memory, as he liked to know how he met people in his life. He was not one to hold on to grudges or ill will against people that may have not been his friend. As they continued to talk about names, and team names, he smiled at Conteinstein. “Hmm, sounds like it can rule the world.” he joked as he felt the light push. His hands up in surrender. “Like a secret language?” he smirked, before he let out a light laugh. “Ah, well let’s hear it.” he looked at the moon, and then the stars, it did seem quiet, peaceful even. The sound of the fire between them, Enzo was curious. “What do you make of today, this moment, right now?”

  “ah see!” she pointed at him, excitement radiating on her face. his admission earned it nor did the alcohol allow a filter to stop the emotion. how easily she found herself enjoying it too, enzo was warm much like the fire he set up. “oh no, i was thinking like ‘count dracula’ but ‘count einstein’. may we be rich but in happiness, not wealth.” adeline lifted her empty cup as if to cheers, of course a soft sigh passed her as it was lowered eyes stated on the dancing flames. “a secret language- i could teach you the tongue of the fae but then it would either be a sign of marriage or treason.” her gaze lingered back to him, adeline said the words in such a serious tone but her lips betrayed her again breaking into a smile after a beat passed. “hm--this moment? i think this would be called secundo, for our moment away from reality.”

Peyton was reorganizing one of the shelves that had jars of spices and raw ingredients effortlessly with his telekinetic magic when he heard the little bell above the shop door ringing. He held some items in the air for a moment, peaking his head out to greet them. “If you give me a second I can assist you, love,” he said.

  she never was one to jump to conclusions but entering the tiny shop made it clear that one familiar with the world beyond the normal owned it. she was even sure she’d perhaps seen him before but her memory was selective not photographic. “no problem, i have time.” adeline responded, slowly turning her attention to the items on display. what was she looking for in the first place?

“That’s also true. Though I suppose there is still some dissimilarity with the royalty in this sense not pertaining to that of the mundane,” Devon returned as she was thinking out loud too. Plenty of royals had resided in the earth’s history, though the royalties they spoke of weren’t human. There was some difference there. “There may be moroi who don’t like being compared to the humans and how they do things. I’ve heard stories of tense disagreements. But… perhaps it’s different at Acadia. All of us work together, or try to,” she then added with a smile. “A strong force. Yes, it’s true. I can see it too. This academy has become a family. All families have disagreements, of course, though the bonds are still there.”

“that is for sure,” she agreed with a rather stern nod. it was more so attempting to force her focus on something other than the gorgeous woman before her. what was this curse eros gave her? or was it aphrodite playing a cruel joke on her? she really should reference other pantheons but weren’t the greeks so fun. “well you can only pick and choose your company not others attitude towards things. which is a great reason to avoid most people.” the smallest laughs slipped out of her, as much as she would like to be joking and the words definitely sounded like one, she really felt that way at times. “i hope for the best honestly.”

The exchange had becoming amusing, Maven finding she wasn’t bored yet. She wanted to hear what else could come from the fae, wanted to see how far she could go. “A latest addition. Hm, reliable battery and everything?” She threw out the tease with a smirk, once again glancing over Adeline in a nonchalant manner. The secretive standpoint made her look thoughtful, the magician sending her a sly look. “Oh, the play hard to get type. Aren’t you the mysterious one,” Maven remarked. “She’s not like other girls.” It was a joke that could also be seen as a taunt, but she just threw out another smile.

  well someone was finding something entertaining between them, adeline had time to spare. she wasn’t the petty kind to check her phone to seem busy either so she simply stared at the sky eyed woman. “endless memory data. a true bonus.” if only those could understand the depth of a mind, she wondered if the girl would dare to take the bait. “i have a feeling i could say the same thing about you darling. tell me does everyone have such wit as you?”

“Well any kind of interaction was bound to happen, right?” he asked with a raised brow. Maybe if they hadn’t met this way, there would have been another, or they could not have met at all. But Enzo liked to see the positivity in all things, and meeting Adeline, was certainly something he was happy that had occurred. “What do you make of this connection?” he smiled before looking back up at the sky, there was a connection in many things. Each had meaning, a significance. It was something he tried to do, connect with others. There were connections, and then there were bonds. Perhaps a tether, he wasn’t sure. He just knew he didn’t want to be alone on this end. Team names….he paused. “I uh…think they use that as couple names.” he rubbed the back of his neck. “For two people, maybe neutral, or something more. “ he looked back at her “ but Contreinstein.” he chuckled, it did make him laugh. He hadn’t been living for himself, but for others, for the pack, for the people he cared about. “I’m not sure the life I should be living, but I am where I am. I’m with who I’m with. Already written in the stars huh?” he gave a small smirk, as he lightly brushed his shoulders against hers.

   “yes of course,” she nodded along with the words, he was right. they were going to meet eventually. “-but don’t you think out of all the chances we could have met it was like this. i accidently complimented another professor about their beauty so -- i think this was a very well thought out way for fate to have an encounter.” or it was her being a terrible example for her students and staying up far to late to grade papers. well that was how it started, she wasn’t going to complain where it was now. adeline gave him an odd expression at his ‘thoughts’, couples? now she was going to need to figure out who they were speaking of when they were saying the ‘names’. “conteinstein! oh certainly that one.” she glanced to him with a large smile,gently pushing him - shock, of course his mind came up with the best one. not that she thought very hard on it. already telling out of the two he’d be the brains of the operation. “that is it, no one will know it, simply us of course. like mortals and the freemasons they have there.” hands returned to the cup though, tightly gripping the little object as he nudged her. “i could say seen in the cards, or predicted by the oracles.”

“Depending on model,” Maven echoed with purposeful emphasis in her tone, glancing over the fae in half curiosity, half teasing. “And are you one of the originals?” She inquired, tilting an eyebrow. “The older you are, the more intelligent, hm? Or so I’d presume. Though I suppose not all humans meet that standard,” she pointed out, rolling her eyes as she thought about the stupidity of human kind that was constantly seen in the media or in person. “Interesting. Well, do tell, babe,” she smirked, giving her a sly and amused look. “What is it your body wants?”

   “oh i’m sure i would be dead... probably a few millenniums ago. lucky for you i’m a latest addition. i see they enjoy keeping to the classics with all of the others. it’s a wholesome feeling among the crowds.” she offered a polite smile, sure keeping fae distance was normal but magicians... all the same. rich, poor all the same. “if i were to give all my secrets away on the first meeting that would ruin my reputation.”

The mention of the moroi was a valid and amusing point. “I suppose tensions may run high as a result,” Devon admitted in agreement. “But yes, what an interesting turn of events that would be.” An odd and crazy, but interesting one. “I promise Acadia hasn’t always been this bewildering,” the magician pointed out, smiling. “Before this year, the madness and dangers that we know now were nearly non-existent. The atmosphere of the academy ran on normality. Or, well, as normal as a supernatural school can be,” she explained with a soft laugh. “Though many of us have been around here for a while, the trials and tribulations we’ve all found ourselves in is still unfamiliar territory.”

 “they can’t be the only rulers in town. look at the european countries, the mundanes managed rather nicely with multiple royalty around.” perhaps moroi were more pretentious than she realized. the fae typically kept their distance, if they were living near others it was most likely under a guise and it was easy for them to disappear if they wish. “it’s a once in a lifetime chance, i mean we get to be a part of history. how many others will get to say they met elves? or saw another realm.” given she was able to visit it, “well know that no one is alone. i can already tell looking at the students that there is a strong force within them. i’m sure given between staff and students the territory will easily be understood.”

Enzo paused as he took in her words, and it wasn’t like he hasn’t heard someone offer their company. It was more so because he could sense the way in which she spoke it. He didn’t have many people to lean on here in Acadia, he also knew that the people he held close, all had lives of their own. “Meant to be.” he chuckled, he wasn’t one for the fates, but he did believe in everything happens for a reason. “Actually it would.” he stated honestly. To have things go really well, he had his fair share of ups and downs. Though, Enzo still tried to remain hopeful. “I’ll be on your team as well.” he agreed, as he made himself comfortable and laid down to get a better view of the sky. “I’m more of a, come as they go. I don’t plan things ahead, I’m in the here and now.” and sometimes he did wonder in the future, what could be, where life would take him. However, there was no rush. “All those things do sound exciting.” Love. now there was a concept. one he wasn’t quite sure was for him.

  “or.. not. i mean it’s really whatever you would like. i find i can never decide or perhaps i already know in mind what fate might have instore and seeing as i wouldn’t want to impose on someone ... i always let them decide what to make of a -- connection.” whatever it may be; friendship, love, family. they were all the same at the end of the day. leading to a goodbye death would bring. how quickly someone can realize forever wasn’t always. the heavy thoughts were washed away with the excitement of his words, this was the first real ‘team’ member she officially had. years going by with nothing more than passing faces. “ah! then we  must have a team name, shall we? what is it they do now a days for the names? a students did it - oh ! use ones names. perhaps... adenzo?” she almost wanted to laugh at herself for sounding like a teenager, coming up with something so ridiculous, “or starry night? i’m not sure if van gough as the copyrights on the title... a very  adventurous life you have to be living then. or at least live one for someone else that can’t. and honestly, i think they sound... infinite.”  

   she didn’t want to come off as creepy though adeline was sure she would be crossing into the territory if she ever admitted to finishing a class early simply to meet another professor. feeling like it was about time she extended her ‘knowledge’ and what better to do it with a teacher of history. the only thing stopping her was her nerves, awkwardly circling the hallway just on the corner from the classroom door she couldn’t find any courage to go in. yet fate decided to throw her to the ocean to swim - the professor in question making an appearance. adeline put on a warm and polite smile. “professor tarenen? hi -- i’m adeline einstein, professor of teleportation and telekinesis. i was wondering if you had some time to chat? i’m very curious on the subject you teach, i’m sure you’re sick of speaking of it but i’d love to hear anything you have to offer.”

It was something to think about, indulgenced filled days. He had been so caught up his pack, he didn’t really have time to settle on himself. It seemed he was today. Right here. Right now. He was taking things in, reflecting on them. “Perhaps moments.” he said as he looked at her. She was like a breath of fresh air, in the way she spoke, and he enjoyed their conversation. “Everyone needs a good person. Or someone that is willing to stand by them.” he stated with a nod. No one should be alone, there was someone out there for someone, right? Enzo laughed again “End of the world is a different thing entirely, but survival, I’ll do my best.” Taking a seat now next to her, he looked back up at the stars. “You believe in that?” he asked, jokes aside he was curious of her answer. “This meeting was written in the stars?”

  she gave him a smile, some ‘see i told you’ vibes hiding behind it but mostly just a smile. one he earned with the atmosphere he was making and the conversation topics being rather interesting despite the original course of the evening. “you can call me if you ever get sick of it. we may have just met but i have a feeling it was meant to be.” her finger wiggled in the air with the words, soft laughter spilling from her as she listened to him. weren’t they just two, hopelessly hopeful people it felt like. “wouldn’t that be nice for once.” she left the heavier words slip out before turning to the sky, arms falling back to lean on them. “i’ll be on your team then for certain...and of course. i try to think there’s still things bigger than us out there, why not have an encounter written in the stars? and simply saying ‘written in the stars’ well it could be a sign of many things to come into your life you know - like love, friendship, a baby if that’s what you’re going for, travel opportunities.”

“Hardly.” he stated with a light laugh, his life wasn’t the easiest, and if he had to relive it, he would have still chosen the same path. He wanted to do the things he liked, and he was also cautious too. Guess he didn’t really worry so much of himself, or what became of him. Enzo couldn’t help the smile, “I learned as I grew up. Surviving on my own, it has just been me.” he stated with a nod. “I’ve traveled places.” he stated as he was remembering his past, the fire could be almost of a reflection of him. Burning, never giving up, or allowing others to put him out. “You go back to the basics.” he nodded. “Maybe that’s just me.” he blew against the flames, watching as they took up more of the branches. “A cozy fire for Miss Einstein.”

  “oh come on, if you have the freedom to do it you should really be living indulgenced filled days.” did the sentence make more sense within her mind? yes. perhaps in the slightest her mind was realizing someone else was finally around. earning the drunk phase of ‘babbling’ mess. a typical sober state for her though. “alone isn’t so bad - i mean some of us are never alone and honestly it’s the worst. as much as people say we need each other, we really just need those who are good for us around. plus you got those cool skills now so you will definitely survive the end of the world.” a little wiggle of her brows at him, it wasn’t the best advice but it felt like a needed thing. it could be the haze affecting her yet he was so warm but with a life time behind his eyes. it made her want to make up for the time others missed out on. “well i’m very honored for such a special first meeting professor. we can joke this was written in the stars.”
