Our project Switching Tongues will be continued this September! The second iteration has the title A History of Characters and will be performed at Echoraum Vienna (20.9.) and Forum Stadtpark (22.9.).
Media artists and musician Arne Glöckner will create an interactive installation as a “stage design”. Jeffrey Young, Manuel Alcaraz and Margarethe Maierhofer-Lischka will perform, compose, create, direct and we all will hopefully have a lot of fun!

Today at 11.30am we perform “bodily weavings at the Botanical Garden in Graz! Come and enjoy with us the natural beauty and nice weather.
nature is creating spirals and patterns everywhere. when one starts searching for it, it pops up in every corner.
tracing natural structures.
in the preparation for “bodily weavings”, we keep searching for natural structures and their unfolding in nature and the human being. Once i started, I keep finding these structures everywhere: these almost obsessive spirals, curves, windings. These are also present in our bodies’ spiraling muslce chains, bone structures, patterns of movement. Everything is in everything, we keen unfolding ourselves like shimmering fractals since the day we were born.
With our most recent project “23 stories on losing my breath” we had an amazing performance at the Schnittpunkte festival in Heiligenkreuz, Burgenland!

video excerpt of “zwischen_räume”, a soundperformance / performative exploration / installative experiment realized during a workshop in January at the ZHdK Zurich. How do we layer and connect experiences that are seemingly distant? How do places and objects become meaningful, and how do our actions change the value of the places we use everyday? I experimented with several layers of experience - soundrecording, sound performance, video recording, moving projections, drawing - putting them together in different combinations. The video trailer is not a pure documentation but yet one more transformation or configuration of this idea in another, more concentrated format.
What “zwischen_räume” is also exploring, is the quality of uncontained space. Where does performance end, where does reality come in or vice versa? How can we deal with loose experiences, bits of information, non-consistent spaces of experience?
What I also like to think about is the idea of “unstable” or multifaceted performative installations, where the relation between the existing space and the artistic and human actions inside are constantly changing and moving, incorporating also the technology used. Wandering loudspeakers, wandering projections and wandering persons together create an invisible map, leaving traces of experience in a place that normally serves as an empty passageway.
some images that were taken in the development of “zwischen_räume”, a multimodal exploration of a concrete space in the building of the ZHdK Zurich. I studied and extracted features of the place, its sounds and inhabitants, transfering them into layers of images and other media.
