I’ve been pretty lucky in the roles that I’ve had and I’ve gotten to work with some amazing people. But I’ll admit getting to work with Tom Cruise on Top Gun was one of those highlight moments of mine, not to mention getting to be part of such an amazing movie. I grew up watching Top Gun and dreaming about becoming a pilot when I was a little kid, though I’ll admit I’m much happier with the fact that I became an actor instead. It’s just one of those pinch-yourself moments, I guess, because I never believed when I was just some skinny Filipino kid from British Columbia, that I’d be doing a film along side of Tom Cruise. Or I’d be doing a TV show with Nicole Kidman, or a show with Ted Danson. Has anyone else had moments like that? I’m Manny, by the way, or Jason from The Good Place is who most people seem to recognize me by. I promise you, I have a lot more brain cells than Jason.

First of all, congrats on the big movie. Top Gun is a classic for sure and getting to be apart of the new with what your dreams were is pretty awesome. I’ve done my fair share of things over these last few years. Some good. Some meh. Some absolutely terrible, but it’s always an honor to work with the people that I do. It’s very humbling sometimes, you know. I don’t doubt that you have more brain cells than your character, even though I can’t say I’ve actually watched the Good Place. I’ve always been movies over tv kind of guy.
