★-—-“hungry dogs are never loyal”
JODIE COMER // have you met ADNI VESTA yet? SHE/THEY is/are a 28 years old AGENDER HUMAN, originally from CARDOTA but typically reside on WHEREVER SHE IS SENT. after everything they’ve gone through, they show loyalty to THE FIRST ORDER. they are best known for being an APPRENTICE OF THE KNIGHTS OF REN, and i hear they’re grown pretty ADAPTIVE yet also PERVERSE at times; i hope they survive the galactic war.
★-—- the past
Adni Vesta was born a twin, the only two daughters to fisherman Aramis Vesta and his wife, Catta, the New Republic Defense Force military operator. She spent her early years alongside her sister, playing at the shore, fishing with her father, or occasionally watching the training of the New Republic Starfighter Corps.
Before long, a family friend noticed Adni showing signs of sensitivity to the force, and this friend became an advocate, pushing for Adni’s mother to use her New Republic connections to get in touch with Luke Skywalker. At 15, she finally joined him at his new jedi temple to train as a new initiate. She was quick to learn, but impatient. She valued the knowledge she gained, but rarely did she credit those who imparted it to her.
She was faced with a simple choice that night in 28 ABY. Join or die. She had no hesitation joining those of her classmates in their journey to the dark. Her hesitation came later, when she grew tired of taking orders from someone else and in blind arrogance, chose deflection. A stolen ship, set to self-destruct once it’s pilot had been cloaked away in safety, and Adni was just another corpse in the eyes of the knights.
★-—-the present
To be starting a journey on her own was a great task enough, only further complicated as she realized the timeline she entered that ship in was not the one in which she exited it. She quickly saw the rift as a gift, further concealing her from those who would be greatly annoyed to see her alive. After roaming the galaxy, causing minor trouble to anyone who crossed her, she eventually settled in the underground caves of Ryloth, accepted among the twi’leks as just a poor lost young girl in need of a family.
Although it was not Adni herself that attracted attention of the First Order onto Ryloth, a simple spice dispute escalated to where a battalion of stormtroopers was sent to Adni’s new home. She watched idly as her second family was slaughtered, then moved along swiftly to remain undetected. Better them than her.
Eventually, her personal desire to continue her training overcame her disgust for authority. She was found “accidentally” by the first order, and rejoined as their resurrected apprentice, given a second chance through the magic of the rift.
★-—-personality
Adni is stubborn, to put it succinctly. She is self-centered. The moment she left her family on Cardota, all ties to blood were forgotten. That was one jedi teaching she took to heart. She values no voices other than her own, but is wise enough to know when others have knowledge that can benefit her. Her trust and alliance to the First Order only goes as so far as they can support her personal goals. She could care less for politics, order, or peace of any kind. She wants power. She wants a name that strikes fear in the hearts of those who hear it. She wants skills to overcome any obstacle that could stop her.
Perhaps there is light in Adni still, due to her ambiguity towards the dark. She refuses to see anything as absolute. In her eyes, the battle between light and dark is futile. There cannot be one without the other.
