Blind Date; Avgustus

“Whaddup bro?” He rolled to the side funnily, in bruin form, huffing as he sat down on his flanks to observe the bigger ursine “Haven’ seen ya in a while, ya been busy?” He licked at his nose in a friendly manner

   “Somewhat.”  His response was short and gruff- gruffer than the usual for a bear yet it was obvious he was pleased to see his friend while rolling in the grass. Good sun, feels nice.     “Sometimes I need time to myself. I do not get to do so often these days.”

   Finally Avgustus had found where Nashita resided. This could be fun- spend time with the woman, maybe if his beast bear bro was there they could brawl a little or drink.     Odd, do people sleep on their porches often around here?    His attention went from the passed out woman up on the porch to the lion who decided to deffend his home. Avi raised a hand, and called sweetly to Adwin in a friendly manner while his eyes leaped back up to the stirring sniper     “Come now, I am friend- Leetle Adwin should let me see leetle Nash, da?”

   Eyes followed the lions movements carefully; he didn’t seem to be wanting to be friendly at the moment- until suddenly Adwin leaped up and began sharing all the affection he had been hiding. Good thing too; Avi really did not feel like getting scratched up today.    “Ah, that is a shame.” He said while lifting the lion for a quick hug. He was so cute- the best big cat. Setting him down, and instead of leaving the werebear made his way onto the porch; making sure to duck his head from hitting the porch ceiling as he went.     “But am very glad to see you too. I do not always just want to see Sergej- you are my friend too.” There was a pause. “Did you sleep out under the stars last night?”

   Finally Avgustus had found where Nashita resided.    Lazily one eye opened and glanced toward the doctor who worriedly hovered over him. His reaction to the bear was funny- a little thing Avi loved to do was mess with strangers in bear form and none would be the wiser. This poor man though, he seemed a bit meek- and familiar?     A huff escaped his muzzle, and Avi closed his eye before the medic could see that he was awake. At the touch, the bear gave an overly exaggerated twitch- just to see if he could make the medic jump.

   Avgustus was… surprised to see who his date was. He remembered Alfons ery well- a kind medic, a good listener; certainly not completely off his rocker like most of the doctors who worked as mercenaries. While the hut visit was a foggy memory, other visits the brutal had made back when he was more like his brutal were still fresh. He had never much to say to Alfons before- but that wasn’t necessary then.  This medic was good company all around. No matter what his clothing choice was.    “Da, I remember. Et is good to see you again.” The Russian greeted- then remembered to smile. Smiling as polite in situations like these- or so he was told. Sad when a fully grown man needs social etiquette lessons from one he once considered an enemy. “How are you?”

   He had many questions at once, and it made him believe that Alfons’ really was delighted to be sharing a dinner with him. That was… a heart warming thought. He wasn’t used to others seeming so at ease with him- especially those who knew his not so glamorous history.    Avgustus opened his own menu, scanning it quickly while pointing out the various drinks the two of them could share. Brandies and scotch, wine-    “I hope you do not mind. I enjoy my alcohol and would love to drink with you. As for food, I already decided to have te salmon. And do not laugh. I love salmon…” A typical statement by the werebear.
