Koboshvili, a Georgian Jew, began painting at the age of 61. the primary subjects of his work are scenes of Jewish life. he died before his works could be displayed publicly, and his exhibition remained in storage at the Georgian Jewish Museum in Tbilisi until the Soviet government seized and shut down the museum and the synagogue in which it was housed in 1952. his works now belong to the Georgian National Museum.
