“I’m embarrased to be related to you!” is one of the biggest Sibling Moods(tm) ever. This show is nothing if not realistic. 

(shoutout to Sokka just ignoring all of this because you know that Katara has made this speech approximately 2000 times in her 14 years of living)

this moment where even though Aang is the Avatar and everyone involves knows it was an accident, Sokka still does not hesitate for a second to pin him to the ground because Avatar or accident or whatever, THAT’S HIS BABY SISTER AND SHE’S HURT 

in which Sokka is the only one who’s allowed to chew Katara out for irresponsible ecoterrorism and everyone else can get fucked 

“DON’T CALL ME THAT”

(okay but this is literally the first time Zuko and Azula have seen each other in three years and Azula just immediately starts roasting him. Zuko you’re so fucking valid, hon.)

“I didn’t have to come all this way” 

I know Azula is putting on a show in order to lull Zuko into a false sense of security so she can imprison him, but this has the exact same tone as someone who had to sit through their sibling’s middle school graduation ceremony and they had other shit they wanted to do but their parents made them sit through three hours of random 14 year olds walk across a gym stage and fuck you literally wanted to be anywhere else but they would have been sad if you didn’t come so FINE.

in which the only acceptable time to be nice to your sibling is when there’s no one around to witness it 

I will never understand people who characterize Katara as humorless. Queen was a straight savage. End this boy’s whole career, Katara. 

(honestly joke’s on Katara here because Sokka’s first kiss ends up being an actual princess while her’s ends up being Mouth Wheat Boy)

The scene where Zuko confronts Azula about lying to Ozai about lying about who killed Aang is another exemplification of how Zuko and Azula’s father drove them apart with his impossible standards and conditions, making it impossible for them to be close and impossible to trust each other as they constantly compete for the right to exist under this roof. This confrontation can represent the entirety of the tragedy of their doomed sibling relationship, but it also contains the most accurate sibling moment in this entire series because after that whole confrontation, Zuko still leaves the door open. Azula might be able to generate actual lightning, but he still leaves the fucking door open. Princess Azula, one of the best villains in television history and one of the most dangerous people in this universe still has to get up and close that door after this scene.
