#it’s because when ilya made the decision to come to th e cottage/be with shane he chose to be with shane for everything#he sees scott hunter kiss a man on television and realises he is allowed to have it and he takes it#not that ilya is ready to come out immediately because he isn’t. but when he chooses shane he chooses him over EVERYTHING#he isn’t going back which means at some point their relationship will move forward enough that they WILL come out#shane chooses ilya too but he chooses ilya inside this bubble#with plans for them to come out years from now#there’s nothing wrong with that and it’s entirely understandable#but shane asks ilya to come to the cottage as a ‘we can be together in this super private place’#and when ilya agrees he’s saying ‘we can be together’ and the super private place bit is a bonus but not the selling point
