there are people on here who get thousands of notes on their fanart and headcanons of a game they publicly admit to not playing or understanding and really i just don't get that
so this was a broad statement with a few different people in mind but apparently something happened. ive been hating this dude for the love of the game i didnβt even know he was finally getting called outβ¦ anyway nights-at-crystarium is also the person who dismissed ala mhigans as βpolitically angry men in a caveβ when he didnβt want to do their part of arr, so heβs always been racist and an idiot π
like on top of being a fucking moron who calls the scions a "cult" because they're friends who knew each other before the wol joins, he's just straight up racist
Big up to OP for this because while everyone and their mothers have been coming out of the woodwork about the shitty things the Fragments author has said and done, not a single one actually gave receipts on what exactly he said about the Ala Mhigans that was so shittyβand that's if they even mention it!
And to be clear, it IS shitty and there's a lot that can be said about the intersectionality between racism and dismissing an oppressed people driven out of their homeland and fighting for their right to live with dignity as "politically angry", and how in the Ala Mhigan Resistance's case it may very well be rooted in the player's own discrimination towards brown people...
...but for the most part I think this just shows how shallow and self-absorbed the Fragments author isβnot just about engaging with the game's lore but just in general. The Ala Mhigans in Little Ala Mhigo mirror many different real-world refugee groups fleeing their war-torn homelands who struggle to adapt and assimilate in the countries that have given them refugeβcountries whose cultures are so different and dissimilar to their own that they'd have to give up their cultural identity to be properly "accepted". If he's dismissing the Ala Mhigans in Little Ala Mhigo as "politically angry men", how does he view refugee groups in his country? How does he view a minority group (that he doesn't belong to) protesting for their civil rights? The answer is simple: he doesn't. He's never thought about it. He equates everything he doesn't care for with "politics (derogatory)", even when it involves fighting for the civil rights of an oppressed group.
If it's not about him, he doesn't care. Note how he says the Sylphs and the Little Ala Mhigo sections are important because "we get to prevent the primal summonings". It's important to him because it revolves around (his) WoL doing stuff and being cool, but he doesn't give a rat's arse about things that don't actually impact him or his WoL directly, such as the people who are affected by Laurentius' treachery or Wilred's well-meaning but foolhardy actions. He doesn't care about them, and to "personally dislike the politically angry men" shows how much he dislikes having to engage with things that do not relate to him and that he sees as disruptive to his nice little bubble of a life where the biggest struggle he has is not having enough eyes on his self-indulgent webcomic and being one of the precious few gay creators in the horrifically straight FFXIV fandom /s
And it's genuinely mirrored in the very thing that propelled him into this mess! He doesn't give a shit about biphobia, he doesn't give a shit about bisexuals constantly getting flack for not being queer enough for liking the opposite gender as well their ownβall that matters to him is his struggles. He's the one being oppressed as a gay person. He's the one who has to see all these icky "straight" M/F ships. He's the one who has to deal with the indignity of seeing his favourite blorbo that he identifies so much with headcanoned by other people as anything other than gay. He wants to claim Emet-Selch as gay because Emet-Selch is so camp and flamboyant and theatrical that it's an affront to gay people to deny his stereotypical gayness, even though stereotypical determinism in 2026 is the opposite of queer progress. It's all about him and what he thinks being gay is, and fuck every other queer identity. Up yours, he's fighting for his.
What a horrendous little person. Hopefully this is the last time I reblog anything about him because I think we can establish by now that he's really just a shallow, self-absorbed and selfish little prick who refuses to take any warranted criticism into account, and the sooner he disappears into obscurity, the better.
We do not want you here not because you're gay, fragments, it's because you're a misogynist.
Since this is pretty much yet another flimsy, revisionist and self-centred defence from @nights-at-crystarium, I have to address it. You cannot slide around here being a misogynist and we should demand better from people who share this fandom space.

You did NOT say that Jay. You "signed under every word" that Emet-Selch could only be gay and agreeing that he can't possibly like women. This is patently false as Emet-Selch behaves the same way whether your WoL is using male or female model. Bisexual people won't have any issue if you'd just stop at "I HC Emet as gay", but when the wording bleeds into insulting players for shipping him with a femme wol, calling m/f Emet artists "hetslop" and wishing femme players a "happy transition" to male, then it does become biphobia AND transphobia as you're now referring to real actual players.
And suppose you're also glossing over the xenophobic/racist take that Japanese people don't understand queercoding? When Emet-Selch was specifically written by a Japanese woman to be sexually ambiguous for the players to decide on their own?
Hate speech, death threats and unwanted porn in your inbox is never okay and idk who sent them, but you're deflecting from the fact that this does not invalidate your initial behaviour. You cannot use this as a cudgel to run away.
And no, the amount of gay works have not gone down, you just refuse to see anything but your specific flavour of gay as valid and cutting yourself off from seeing the rest of it.

When does it slide into ACTUAL harm?
Let me reiterate something again. We would not care if you had stopped at just stating your headcanon. By extending that headcanon and applying your visible disdain to the players and other artists, you have jumped into actually treating real people terribly. This isn't just about ships or fictional character anymore, this is you trying to push the misogynist narrative that women are stupid and cannot see someone is gay, that they should be transitioning to men in order to enjoy 'a gay dating sim', that there should be less of them around, that artists with m/f ships should not be supported because they make 'hetslop'.
This is compounding on real world harm that women and bisexual people experience. Do not try to lie and say it isn't. Take accountability for your words, stop saying it's everyone's fault but yours. We do not call you out for being gay, we call you out for your rancid behaviour.

He also calls himself a pillar of the community, which is HILARIOUS because I have never seen him uplift other creators. You can't be a pillar of the community if you don't engage with the community. Your sycophants don't count.
How can you victimise yourself to such a degree?
He also claimed that if he was a lesbian, all of these callout of his rancid behaviour won't happen, which is laughable because you ask any lesbian in this space what being femme entails, they'd tell you straight up that they have experienced misogyny, no less from people like you Jay.
