Fun Descendants Stuff

i sent myself ten of these, both on anon and not. This was all i received back:

the black hair - thomas dyed his hair black for the first film but we all saw it didn’t really come through… and now they’ve really gone for it. i don’t mind it tbh. It makes his whole outfit look blacker actually, but when you take a look at it, his jacket is actually just a darker reddish colour. I wish it was messy though. Guyliner is nice and heavy right off the bat. He probably never washed it off from the last film.

the beady things - there are these bead type things that Harry has on that little wrist bracelet and his belt. Gil and Uma have something similar. Gil on his glove and Uma on her belt. I just think it’s cute. Might not even be intentional but it’s a small common them throughout the three of them.

the hook + beads - well of course. Also, I can see the little red bead bracelet that Harry has (Uma has a blue one with a single red bead and one of the beads on Harry’s is black i believe?) There’s a little headcanon she broke her bracelet as a child and he put it together for her but lost one of the beads so replaced it with his own and just got a random new one for his bracelet. Guess it also represents the two main colours in his scheme so that’s fun. We don’t get a good enough look at Uma’s wrists to see if she’s wearing hers for definite but I think I can see it on the hand on Harry’s shoulder, behind the bracelet with the hanging blue bits.

The very thought of Auradon had always made her furious. Every time the chip shop’s TV mentioned the royal family or any of their subjects, Uma fought the urge to break the TV. Rage boiled in her whenever the Beast King or his bookish queen made proclamations about how good, how perfect, how happy everyone was on that island. He always credited the isle of the lost for his peaceful country, saying that trapping every villain to have ever lived and thousand of minions was a good idea. He never talked about the children. Uma was basically a slave to her mother, she worked and managed the shop with no pay, and no recognition, while her mother sat on her tentacles all day threatening to strangle her or her sisters if she didn’t buy potion ingredients. Harry and his sister constantly compete for their father’s attention and affection. They definitely got some sort of attention. Uma flinched at the memory of Harry, coming to her as she’s closing up the chip shop, with a split lip and a black eye. And Gil…Uma knew very little of Gil’s home life, but she was sure his father was too busy admiring himself to teach Gil or his brothers about life on the isle. God knows the poor child lacked any street smarts. God knows He would have gotten himself Killed If Uma didn’t protect him.

Give me a dark twisted Isle with starving children and Crime all over Give me villains who amassed so much power that they rule their territory with an iron fist and thirst for vengeance. give me struggling sidekicks who did their best to be good, but were dragged back into servitude because of the beast. Give me children born out of a need for labour, or out of lack of control, give me unwanted orphans and kids who begged to be let inside, but they can’t they disobeyed, they acted out, and now they are left at the mercy of scar and his pride. Give me Kids who flock to Yen sid’s door, because at least there is food and shelter and someone who at least pretends to care. Give me a maleficent who rules the isle pretending to have even a sliver of magic left, who trains all the children too be evil, because one day, one day she’ll be free, and when that day comes, child soldiers will be very useful.

give me a Lost revenge pirate crew who band together for protection not vengeance, give me  ship that’s falling apart, and it’s cold in the winter, and there’s that leak that causes below deck to constantly be covered in a thin layer of water, but at least Their parents aren’t there, at least they are safe for a few nights. Give me a bunch of Girls who Gaston didn’t want banding together like their own girl gang, the oldest among them acting like their mother who ran away so long ago.

Give me lions who are human during the days, and animals at night, constantly shifting against their will in order to ‘protect’ the humans on the isle. Give me screams at every sunset, representing the pain an entire pride of lions go through at their bones elongate and the skin is stretched, because of a spell done long ago that takes away their agency over their bodies.

Give me Uma who learned how to swim because her mother threw her off the edge of the isle whenever she disobeyed, give me cruel sea witches with hypnotic voices, that cackle whenever she is whipped by her mother’s tentacles. Give me a hierarchy of power and give me villains who fight so they could rise above their station, at the expense of their children.

Give Me a realistic Auradon. Give me a beast who hated the sorceress who cursed him so much, he punished all magical creatures for revenge. give me laws that discriminate against fairy’s and wizards and witches, give me innocent magic users thrown to the isle because they bark one petty law, or they tried to fight for the right to use magic. Give me Merlin and fairy God Mother, the only magic users allowed to use magic, afraid of the beast, and afraid to speak up. Give me the beast and his Belle forcing all wizards to raise the sea, and then imprisoning them for using necromancy. Give me  sorceress hiding in the woods, watching her people carted off to the island, crying because she was trying to give the arrogant prince a lesson, but the beast was still a beast, handsome outside but horrifying cruel inside. 

Give me pretty pastels and a bright shining sun that disguised the sickly sweet smile that every auradon child has to wear. they’re happy here aren’t they? never mind the constant itch just under the skin of magic waiting to be burst out, never mind how tight the dress collars are and how hot the suits are. they’re on Auradon, be good be good be good, don’t rebel, don’t have opinions, just smile and be good.

give me royalty thrown off their thrones in the name of unity, Give me Kingdoms that were once proud and happy, colonized by Auradon, give me cultures that have long been forgotten or repressed because there was too much magic, too much freedom, and too little hot pink. 

Give me consequences. Give me the children of wizards and fairy’s who are given the chance to live going mad because they couldn’t conjure. Give me Jane, with so much power bubbly beneath the skin and no release, so she is constantly jittery, and anxious and afraid, because one thing could set her off and that one thing might make her see her aunty flora again.

Give me Kids who sit outside the ideological mold of the AK, give me the kids who sit outside of the heteronormative cissexist fairy tale standard. your gay kids, your trans kids, the ones who acted more like villains, not because they were evil, but because the boys were flamboyant and the girls hated dresses, and because some kids said they were neither ad dressed however they want. give me a girl who doesn’t want a handsome prince, but a princess to rescue, give me a prince who only really wants foods and friends, not romance, give me a girl who everyone says is a boy no matter how they feel. give me Ask hurt and silenced by fairytales, because if you don’t want a normal marriage and a castle then are you really good? so their are quite because they have the be good, be good, be good

Give me a dark descendants, a world in wich the Isle is a mess of feudalism and gang activity and in wich Auradon is a repressive society shaped by old stories and old minds. Give me a cruel king and a cunning queen who care only about themselves, Give me awful parents who twist the minds of their children just so they can be served.

And give me a new generation: the rotten four, the sea three, the wharf east, the Ads, lead by Ben who wasn’t corrupted to think like his father, but inspired to think empathetically.

Oh man so I’ve actually written so much this year (well since August really). I got into the Descendants fandom and something about it really clicked with me and gave me the confidence to put my writing out there for others to read. I also started writing my own original work.

Crow Adventures is actually a funny story. This was my last piece of writing for senior English and it also happens to be a Haikyuu au. It reads more like a children'ss story but I am pretty proud of it. 

How to be the Second Mate I still think that out of everything I wrote for the descendants fandom this is my favorite. It was the first piece I put out there for the fandom and what really gave me the confidence to keep going. 

Pirate Cats this one came from an idea I had at about 1 am and I’m pretty sure that shows. Regardless I think this is one of the most fun pieces I wrote.

For Love of Land and Sea and All Those In-between this was supposed to be a collection of a bunch of different pairings from descendants, but there is only Sea Three (Uma, Harry and Gil) related one shots. This is, well, everything. It was all prompt based and I had some strange prompts but it was fun. I hope I get around to writing some more for this one.

Blue is my original story I’ve been dedicating my time to since November. It has been a long time coming and I am so happy I finally started writing it. I have loved every minute I’ve spent working, even when it isn’t going as well as I want. One day I want to see this on the shelves of a bookstore and above all else I want to make it into something worth sharing with others. 

Here is to our 2017 pieces and here is to all the future pieces we will do in 2018. May your inspiration flow freely and your hands never tire. I look forward to what everyone will create. Feel free to use this to share your accomplishments of 2017.

Hi anon! Thank you for being so patient! When I first got this prompt, I actually laughed because I had been thinking of something similar literally days before. I’m glad that I was able to put some of those thoughts into an actual prompt. I do want to apologize though, if you’re a Mal fan, there’s a bit of Mal bashing in this one (I don’t necessarily hate Mal. I actually think she’s has the potential of being a really great character, but the last movie just dropped the ball on that. It was just the only way I could think of to make the story work).

Anyway, I hope you still enjoy and obviously, you should totally listen to “What’s My Name” at some point before, after, or while you’re reading.

After the media horror show that followed after Mal very publicly broke up with him (who the hell breaks up with someone right in the middle of an interview, he thought), singing artist Harry Hook wanted nothing to do with collaborating with another wannabe diva. 

Hey all my cool followers! I don’t think I’ve ever actually posted anything from this account but here I am. This is a little awkward but it would mean a whole lot to me if even one of you took some time to check out part of the story I wrote for Nanowrimo. It’s a story I have been planning for years and is also the origin of my url. 

It starts with a boy named Cato being forced to flee his home which sets off a series of events that not only releases a terrible threat back into the world, but also allows him to meet a wide cast of different characters. The majority of the characters are lgbt+ and poc. Its a fantasy tale set in a different world with magic and were-creatures and I’m totally biased but I think its cool.

Bro, I can’t believe I never thought of this!

 - Harry and Uma being pretty damn protective of their pirate crew and giving death threats to Jay, Mal and Evie if anything happens to Carlos

 - Jay’s like ‘aww, you mean that cute freckled kid? He’s gonna be my roommate!’

 - Uma whipping out her sword like ‘it’s such a shame you think with your dick, maybe I can get ride of it for you?’

 - Carlos being completely silent and still in the limo. He’s terrified because he’s the odd one out in this group, even if Mal includes him in her plan for the wand, Evie is trying to be friendly and Jay is laying on the charm like crazy

 - but when they think the limo is going off the bridge, Jay, Evie and Mal cling to each other and Carlos huddles by himself in the corner and immediately regrets leaving his friends

 - he’s roommates with Jay, who is always (purposefully) walking around their dorm without a shirt on

 - Evie squeals that she has someone with them who understands fashion, she and Carlos bond over sewing and designing clothes

 - Mal terrifies him and relaxes him at the same time because she’s the daughter of Maleficent, trying to take over a country, but she’s also a lot like Uma and Carlos misses his pirates more than he wants to admit

- he’s a little more athletic, since pirates practice sword fighting and swimming, so Carlos isn’t terrible at tourney, but goes out for the swim team instead

 - confides to Dude how much he misses Uma, Harry and Gil. Evie overhears it one day and her heart just breaks. Yeah, she’s away from home and her mother too, but at least Evie got to come with people she knows and cares for. Carlos came by himself

 - Evie going super out of her way to include Carlos in everything, so he starts spending time with the three, even outside of their plan to steal the wand

 - the three of them are like “crap, this guy is really smart and good with mechanics and plans, we should’ve claimed him for our group, let’s get him to join us”

 - Carlos talking about Harry, Gil and Uma with stars in his eyes, going on and on about how Harry protects everyone and Gil always makes sure the pirates have enough to eat and Uma is so intelligent and Mal, Jay and Evie realizing there’s another side to the group they’ve hated and fought with for so long

 - super doesn’t care about being evil, just about getting his pirate family to a better life and maybe slowly starting to care about Mal, Jay and Evie, so when they all choose good, Carlos grabs Ben right after coronation and is like “I have like a dozen people who need to be brought over NOW”

 - to his surprise, Jay, Evie and Mal vouch for the pirates too because any friends of Carlos’ must be okay

 - Carlos demanding that Mal’s crew and Uma’s crew get along, trying to play peace keeper

 - Uma thinking “okay, I trust Carlos and if he trusts them, I guess we can try to be friends.”

 - Mal’s crew and the pirates being a makeshift little family that originally starts as fighting over Carlos, but grows to Harry and Evie talking about make up and Jay fencing with Uma and Gil following Mal, completely awe-struck at her magic

 - all of them being friends

 - happily ever after
