I noticed that I have never properly introduced myself in here. And I have been here for such a long time! My apologies! My name is Zoya and I am sure you already noticed but english is not my native language. It’s one of the reason why I always try to keep my explanations short (even if I want to say a lot).
I have been learning about the White Rose for more than 8 years now. For some reason, I always go back to them. They are an inexhaustible source of strenght. As a young child who liked to write, they appeared to me as an extraordinary discovery. Young people gathering to share, write and read and risking their lives for it. Bigger than the words, the real targets were the minds that animated and invented them. I will do my best to share their stories in here.
Please do not hesitate to contact me, I would love to hear more about other white rose enthusiast and share and learn as much as I possibly can.
and please stay safe!
Hey Zoya!
It's been a long time since I started searching for dedicated people like you on the internet. I finally found you!
I learned about White Rose's history thanks to a trip I took on 2016 in Munich. I went to Ludwig Maximilian University and I have immediatly taken their vicissitudes to heart. Soon it all became a passion. I have started to read and study plenty of documents, extracts of interrogations and testimonies. Recently I found some of Ruth Sachs' online books regarding White Rose but I could only read a few pages due to the preview. In addition her books (containing many in-depth details about their lives) are nowhere to be found. I have grown so fond of them that I consider Hans, Sophie, Christl, Alex, Willi and Prof. Huber (and many more) my close friends, as you do.
I forgot to introduce myself: I'm Veronica but everyone calls me ronnie. I come from Italy, the land of spaghetti and hand gestures.
I'm really excited about this.
Please feel free to reach me anytime here or on twitter (@hugmezaino)
