这不是梦。

    The raven haired male takes a double take- turning his head one time, two times to check whether someone is standing behind him or not. There's noone and he wonders if maybe he just understood wrong but he is pretty sure he didn't.. which confuses him more. Eyebrows raised he finally glances at the taller stranger, one finger pointing up at his own face; it looks a little silly.

             Someone is playing guitar on the sidewalk, figure bundled up in a thick jacket, hood over their head  and leaving their face in the dark. The instrument is resting on their thigh and Jun notices it trembling slightly-- cold.

  He is pretty sure he knows the song, he doesn't know why but the melody makes the tips of his fingers itch, digits curling slightly and mimicking the imaginatory press onto thick strings. Feet stop, the sensation doesn't fade and he digs his nails into his palm, small crescents drawing extra lines between the wrinkles on his palm.

      Slowly, the cold air creeps into his sleeves and up his arms, unable to be melted away by the warmth of a steady rhythm and quickly falling notes-- it's a christmas song. He suddenly remembers. It's wrong, christmas left already and it's 360 days too early to play something like this in public; how annoying.

                  Stiffness falls over his hands and the itch becomes a dull throb, somewhere along the way he sinks his hands into his coat, drawing out a lighter and a small pack of all too expensive paper. Smoking kills, he barely pays attention to it. He knows, he knows and it's useless to remind him every time. He cares, but not that much and whether he shortens his life by a few years he might  only regret in the future anyway.

                                                   It's for a brief second that he scolds himself because you promised yourself you would try to stop but new years resolutions are more suggestions than rules and he can always stop tomorrow. With a hissing noise, the little flame braves the darkess of the winter night and leaves behind a trail of smoke, sitting in the air for a moment before it dissolves. It's as if the ghost of the little flame jumps every time he inhales, he can feel where it is supposed to be warm but it isn't, it's merely a lonely feeling of momentary satisfaction.

    If Jun had the money and means to travel the world, oh he would do so in a heartbeat. Even though it is not easy to leave things behind again and again, he would sacrifice a steady life for the search of something he can call home. While Beijing is where he grew up and he had learned to love the city, it’s not a place he really wants to call home anymore. Seoul was his new beginning, sort of, but whilst he also liked it here, he knows if he had the opportunity to leave again he would. Truthfully, he is not quite sure what he is even searching for, all he knows is that he hasn’t found it yet.
