Hi, how're you? I hope you are doing well ❤️
May I request something where the reader thinks that levi cheated on her (but he didn't cause he loyal as shit) so she breaks up with him, and levi is hurt cause he loves her also cause he doesn't know why she left him, but when he knows he's hurt again cause how could reader believed he would do such a thing!! So Hange or Erwin decide to help bring them back together? Happy ending please
The gala had dragged on forever. Or at least it seemed like it. Y/N milled around, mingling with Lords and Ladies, officials from other military branches. It was exhausting. The Scouts had been obligated to attend the event, or at least the higher ups, but she’d attended and she was ready to leave. So where was Levi?
“Captain, a pleasure.” Levi turned to the Lady, her gown taking up the space around her. He nodded in greeting. “I was wondering,” she began, twirling a piece of dark hair around her index finger, “Would you be as kind as to help me open the door to my room, it is stuck and you seem like you would be the man for the job.”
There were plenty other men attending, Levi had no idea why she asked him. But it wouldn’t be the first time a woman selected him, playing on his label of Humanities Strongest.
He agreed to help and the Lady made her way out of the ballroom, he followed her up the stairs into the north wing of the building. He opened the door with ease.
Y/N noticed Levi as he followed one of the Ladies into the West Wing, expressionless as he trailed behind her. She waited a few minutes, he was probably being polite and helping with something. But after a little while, with no sign of his return, she made her way through the large oak doors and found herself peeking through the gap of the door of one of the rooms.
Levi’s back was to the door, but it was clear what was happening. The lady had her arms wrapped around his neck. She turned away, pushing her back to the wall as tears pricked at her eyes. She was halfway down the hall when Levi spoke.
“Y/N? What are you doing here?” Her blood boiled, but she didn’t want him to know she had invaded his privacy. She faked a smile.
“I was looking for you, but I thought you weren’t here so I was going to head back to the ballroom.” He began heading towards her.
“Ready to leave?” He asked. She nodded.
That night, she couldn’t sleep. Every time she closed her eyes, she could see Levi’s betrayal on the backs of her eyelids. She couldn’t take it anymore. She woke Levi.
“Levi. Wake up.” Her voice was hard, once awake, she spoke before he could.
“You should know that I saw you, kissing that Lady.” He froze, his eyes hardened, “I can’t believe you would do that to me.” Her steely attitude fell, tears welling and spilling.
“Y/N, that’s a misunderstanding.” He was calm, but a hint of worry made its way into his voice. Getting agitated would only make things worse.
“See? You don’t even care!” She got out of the bed, hurriedly pulling on clothes. “Talk to me when you can tell the truth. I know what I saw.”
Levi spent the next week trying to convince her that he hadn’t cheated. He’d die for her, how couldn’t she see that?
The Lady had asked him to look at the door after he commented that it was fine, he humoured her, checking the hinges from inside. He turned to leave when she tried to kiss him, throwing the weight of her body (and that stupid gown) at him, arms around his neck. He’d pushed her away, saying nothing short of “What the fuck?” before leaving. But Y/N wouldn’t listen to that. She saw what she saw, and she believed it.
“What’s going on with you two?” Hanji asked. They were in a meeting with Erwin, they were supposed to be talking about the next expedition. Levi sighed, massaging his temples.
“She thinks I cheated.” He began, his heart tugging, “One of the ladies came onto me at the gala, I pushed her off but Y/N saw. She won’t listen to me and thinks I’m lying.” He took a breath, “I think I need to just accept that things aren’t going to be the same between us.” It broke him saying that. Later, he would probably trash his office in anger, sit in the shower feeling sorry for himself. Hanji and Erwin exchanged a glance.
“I’m sorry.” Erwin gave his shoulder a squeeze, “I know you love her.”
That evening, Erwin called Levi down to the library. Levi assumed it was his attempt at a consolation, a distraction from his sadness. It wouldn’t work. He made his way into the library, it was dark, lit by lanterns. In the centre of the library was a blanket, a teapot and two cups, Y/N stood facing him, confused.
“What is this?” She looked around, “Where’s Hanji?” Levi noticed a note on the blanket, he picked it up and read it aloud.
To speak a language four-eyes will understand, stop being idiots. You two love each other and you aren’t even talking, Levi has something to say Y/N and we are sure you have plenty to say to him. So you can check the doors, they are locked. You aren’t coming out until you have a chat and sort things out.
The pair looked at each other, hearts aching. They sat on the blanket in silence. “Well…” Y/N fiddled with her hands, “We aren’t getting out of here, so what is it that you have to say?” Despite her tone, Levi could see she was hurting. Her eyes were tired, puffy. She’d been crying.
“I didn’t cheat.” He began, “I want you to know I would never do that to you, I love you more than anything, so much that it terrifies me sometimes.” She avoided his gaze, “That lady? She’s nobody. I was checking over her door, she said it was being shitty, but she was the shitty thing. She came onto me, I pushed her away. If you don’t believe me then I’ll back off, leave you alone. But I swear to you, I am loyal to you and only you.” He noticed the tears rolling down her cheeks, he wanted to wipe them away, to hold her close.
“Okay.” Her voice was quiet, soft, “I believe you.” She looked at him now, a smile trying to pull at her lips. It shocked Levi at how easily she changed her mind. “But only if you promise to never leave my side at any gala again, if you so much as look at another woman-“
“Don’t be an idiot, I only have eyes for you.” She smiled at that, Levi felt the colour return to his life. He stood and offered her a hand. When standing, he pulled her in, kissing her gently. “And if you want, we can show the next gala who I’m with.” Y/N liked the sound of that.
The door clicked, the lock turning. Levi rolled his eyes. “Damn Hanji.”
