ACE of BASE

Ace of Base is a pop band based in Gothenburg, Sweden. Its original lineup consisted of Ulf "Buddha" Ekberg, and three siblings, Jonas "Joker" Berggren, Malin "Linn" Berggren and Jenny Berggren. They released four studio albums between 1993 and 2002, which sold over 40 million copies worldwide. This makes them the third-most successful band from Sweden of all time, after ABBA and Roxette. Happy Nation / The Sign is one of the best-selling debut albums of all time, and was certified nine times platinum in the United States. It was the first debut album to produce three number 1 singles on the Billboard Mainstream Top 40 chart: "All That She Wants", "The Sign" and "Don't Turn Around". After their big success, the band continued releasing singles with good positions in the worldwide charts, like "Beautiful Life", "Cruel Summer", "Living In Danger", "Lucky Love", "Life Is A Flower", "Hallo Hallo", "Always Have, Always Will", "Beautiful Morning". Following the formal departure of singer Linn in 2007, the band performed a series of concerts as a trio in Europe and Asia from 2007 through 2009, before Jenny revealed in November 2009 that she would be taking indefinite leave from the band to focus on her own solo career releasing her debut album "My Story" and published her autobiography "Vinna hela världen". Jonas and Ulf recruited two new female vocalists, Clara Hagman and Julia Williamson. The new line-up released their first album together "The Golden Ratio" in September 2010, two years after the girls are departed from the band. In December 2014 and January 2015, remastered versions of their first four studio albums, both European and American editions, were released digitally. Each release features a bonus demo or b-side track. Hidden Gems, a compilation album consisting entirely of demos and b-sides, was released worldwide on March 6, 2015. "Would You Believe" was released as the first single from the album on February 27, 2015. In October 2015, Jenny Berggren participated in the 6th season of the TV Show "Sa mycker bättre" in Sweden, where she performed a new single every week. Jenny continues doing live performances around the world until the date. During 2016 / 2017, a Russian label released an Ultimate Edition of the first three albums of the band in double LPs remastered.
