Where do I meet other asexual?
Iâm sorry for the late reply! It seems Iâm still not receiving message alerts on my phone :\ but anyway, there are a few places Iâve found to meet other asexuals, such as the forums on AVEN, and also Ace-Book.net. Acebook is more like a dating site for asexuals, but can just as easily be used to meet friends :) Also, if youâre looking to meet aces irl, both AVEN forums and Acebook forums have many in-person meet up threads. If you canât find a thread started for an area near you, then of course donât hesitate to make a new one :) If you keep at it youâre bound to get some people to want to meet up!

Iâm not sure? I havenât been on acebook in a couple years it seems lol. They appear to have updated their layout and it looks really different, though :0

Someone very nicely pointed out to me that I should have included sensual attraction in this graphic I made earlier. Iâve copy-pastaâd some of the more important text from that graphic although you should still read the other text too cause itâs still relevant!Â
Firstly, the definitions on the graphic above are very very very very bare-bones, and itâs important to say that different people experience the different kinds of attraction in different ways, and also there are probably more kinds of attraction, but I believe these are the main ones and the most important to differentiate between.
Secondly, itâs also important to note that each person has their own limits and lines drawn between the different kinds of attraction. To some people, touching would be a reaction to aesthetic attraction; to others, it may be a romantic act; to others, sexual. Some people view kissing as sexual and others view it as romantic. Everyone, ace or allo, has their own borders and their own fences in between these different kinds of attraction and some donât have any fences in between them at all, and just let them run around wild together.Â
The first reaction I usually get when I explain the difference between sexual, romantic, and aesthetic attraction is something along the lines of âbut no one looks at someone and just wants to have sex with them right away! everyone needs to get to know them first!â This argument is also a big part of demisexual erasure. Which is why I think itâs important to really differentiate between these types of attraction. And just because these three types of attraction go together for some doesnât mean they go together for all.Â
Again, and especially with the inclusion of sensual attraction, itâs important for me to point out that not everyone has the same standards for each type of attraction. What is included in sensual for some may be included in sexual for others. Asexual people can be sensually attracted to people and desire physical intimacy that doesnât include sexual intercourse, in fact, many do. And I feel the need to point this out often and firmly because there are people in the asexual community invalidating EACH OTHER because few people seem to understand that not only is asexuality a spectrum, everyone exists on their own individual spectrum.Â

Aw that's really cool that someone's interested in my life :') Honestly, I've been going through a lot of changes as of late. My boyfriend and I have moved twice in the past 5 months so it's been kinda stressful, and we just signed a year lease for our own house. Also things have been sort of rough on other fronts, but I don't want to bore you with the details. Long story short though, my boyfriend and I are currently living as just really great friends and roommates. I have been meaning to make more personal posts lately but I can never seem to find the right words or even good topics to discuss. But I'll at least attempt to keep the blog flowing with reblogs! :D

For a long time, it didnât even occur to me that there was a sexual orientation that defined me, or that there were other people out there like me who didnât see relationships with people through a sexual lens. I ended up in a lot of damaging relationships because I thought sex was what was expected of me and that it was what I was supposed to give in a relationship. Understanding this new world of asexuality has been an important step in coming to terms with these unwanted sexual experiences. And for a lot of asexuals, being able to say they are asexual is an incredibly important identifier and âcoming outâ is just as much of step as it is for those who do not define themselves as heterosexuals.
