Edgeworth seeing the world simply as it is. Cold, cruel, death happens, murder happens, jealousy happens. There’s some beauty, some good but that’s so rare that once he finds it he doesn’t want to let it go. Explains why he’s such a fan of the Steel Samurai. It brings him joy and happiness.

He doesn’t want to get close to anyone either. It only brings pain. His father was murdered, his adopted father who emotional abused him framed him for murder, and his sister is so unbelievable jealous that it’s nothing but venom coming out of her mouth at him (until later in the games). He doesn’t try to get close to anyone but it doesnt stop him from being a decent human to those he comes across. Now, don’t get me wrong, he does bond with others. I’m just saying he usually keeps himself at a distance from most.

But one day he remeets Phoenix and his world gets turned upside down. When they start dating some time later he learns more and more about Phoenix. The way Phoenix views the world, the way he applies values to everything in life, just everything. It intrigues him.

He loves to watch Phoenix doodle when they’re spending time together too. Edgeworth gets fascinated on how Phoenix can apply things in real life onto paper. One of his favorite thing soon becomes when Phoenix draws him. They’re usually rough sketches and “look at this doodle of you” but he loves them. He looks so SO BEAUTIFUL on that paper. The way Phoenix sees him makes his heart soar.

He also loves how Phoenix looks at him. Whenever Edgeworth would help him out the look Phoenix will give always gives off butterflies. All he does is say the calculation to a problem immidently after Phoenix says it outloud, but that’s enough to get a look of wonder. He will finish sentences Phoenix has trouble with and recieves a look of… of pure love, and other raw emotions that’s so hard to explain.

Before long Edgeworth sees this plant and doesn’t think nothing of it. He begins to smile and softly tell the plant how beautiful it is. People catch him looking at the clouds or taking pictures of an object before sending it to someone with a grin. People see him honestly stopping and staring at flowers. People see him sympathizing with the possible guilty person and working to find the truth. People can physically see the coldness that acted as a shield melting away.

Thinking about their dynamic as a couple, Miles finding peace and the two of them making each other happy every day, even without realising, makes me feel so many emotions deep inside me I can’t describe it.
