Yes, sometimes the people I love are a burden I must support.
But I choose this burden because a life spent supporting you until the day I die is still a life I get to share with you until the day I die. I'd rather us strive together against a world we'll never beat than strive anyway and die alone.
I know, some people won't like this framing. Some of you want to be reassured that you're not a burden at all. But that logic doesn't work on everyone, and this post isn't for you, then.
This is for me and the ones I love and whoever else can't ignore the fact that, yes, it is sometimes hard work to care for us, and we'd rather not ignore the effort that requires.
Also to reinforce that there's no running away from effort, that living is always going to require effort, and what matters is choosing your values and deciding who and what is worth your effort. I made my choices. I continue to make them every single day. I have many regrets in life, but devoting so much of my energy to my loved ones is not among those regrets. Everyone I love enriches my life beyond measure, and I hope they never come to believe anything less of themselves.
i was sent as a test to see if a doomed person could undoom themselves out of sheer will

Gigabit Isso warrm.
there isn't really a right thing, but the safest bet is to ask questions; people love talking about themselves and what they like, and that's why memes about asking people their favorite things get popular
that's what I do, at least
yeah. i usually try to do something like that. but then i feel like my questions are boring sometimes.
i don't know. i'm definitely thinking too hard about it. haha
it might just be that. i'm worse about overthinking now.
when i made this blog originally. it was on a whim. and i didn't. think i'd stick with it for as long as i have.

Kurt Vonnegut wrote: “When I was 15, I spent a month working on an archeological dig. I was talking to one of the archeologists one day during our lunch break and he asked those kinds of “getting to know you” questions you ask young people: Do you play sports? What’s your favorite subject? And I told him, no I don’t play any sports. I do theater, I’m in choir, I play the violin and piano, I used to take art classes.
And he went WOW. That’s amazing! And I said, “Oh no, but I’m not any good at ANY of them.”
And he said something then that I will never forget and which absolutely blew my mind because no one had ever said anything like it to me before: “I don’t think being good at things is the point of doing them. I think you’ve got all these wonderful experiences with different skills, and that all teaches you things and makes you an interesting person, no matter how well you do them.”
And that honestly changed my life. Because I went from a failure, someone who hadn’t been talented enough at anything to excel, to someone who did things because I enjoyed them. I had been raised in such an achievement-oriented environment, so inundated with the myth of Talent, that I thought it was only worth doing things if you could “Win” at them.
Reminder: Bask in the Warm Glow of Your Achievements like a lizard on a warm rock
if you forgot to do it in the moment, this is your opportunity to Appreciate That You Did It. telling others about it helps make the basking last properly as well.
you did it!! enjoy 🦎

i need to harness this energy whenever i observe this post
got my first ever official customer complaint because when i was going over the terms of their life insurance they were like "well i don't plan to die" and i was like "well you're going to"
i feel like. i used to be better at small talk. and now i'm struggling with it. i don't know what changed.

it was a lot of fun :3 I enjoyed spending time with you
i enjoyed spending time with you too. ♥︎
I think being called a good boy in a non sexual way is just as good as it is in a sexual way. Especially after I’ve done something that I’ve been putting off or just haven’t been able to find the energy to do, but then get called a good boy for doing it. My invisible tail is wagging just thinking about it, I love it
