Laura Needs To Mentor Mutina
"Oh, you think edginess is your ally. But you merely adopted the edge; I was born on it, molded by it."
I think Laura would be a perfect mentor for Leticia.
Leticia models her whole identity and personality on edge-lordiness, which means Laura would be one of the best people to call her out on her BS.
And then knock her ass down to remind her she's really just a try-hard poser. But then she'd also be able to build her back up because she's also pushed people away out of self-hatred. She's been that person and I think she'd be better able to reach her in a way that someone like Kurt wouldn't.
Laura has just the right balance of empathy, experience, and impatience to cut through Leticia's facade.
I would love this angle, especially since Gail Simone is one of the few writers I would trust to do some character rehab with Laura. So many writers have tried the "Make Laura a Mentor" story, but they do it with such pure, innocent characters that provide a good contrast but don't really let her acknowledge her darker roots.
(Side note, how has Laura NOT shown up in this book with Gambit, Logan, AND Jubilee? This would be such a clever way to bring her in)
