ive said this before already, but i dont think our relationship with kris is inherently hostile, at least in the intended path. both us and kris use each other for a specific purpose and sacrifice some stuff in the process. and despite a lot of their autonomy being taken away, kris gets some limited freedom, just like despite us not being the literal protagonist, we still get to follow along with kris and enjoy their story and the world through them. the both of us dont have the ideal circumstances we would've wanted, but we make do for the sake of the greater picture.

kris follows along with a lot of the stuff we do, and i think of our relationship as one of cooperation or symbiosis, instead of direct exploitation. there are some larger forces at play, and despite having a lot of control, we arent omnipotent or omniscient. a lot of things get intentionally hidden from us, we arent some eldritch horror in this world.

i dont know if we will ever get this kind of thing, but it would be nice if we could know about kris more directly, instead of trying to dissect clues from their limited reactions. i want to know how kris talks beyond choice options and second hand descriptions, i want to see more of their expressions as proper sprites. i love seeing kris acting independently any way they can.

we are not kris, us and kris are two separate beings, and it creeps me out when people talk about it as if we are the same. we can share similarities, but as entities we are separate, but for the sake of the story we are tied together, and barely anyone is aware of our existence. i dont even necessarily need the acknowledgement of the entire fictional universe, i just want to positively interact with kris directly at least once. they go through so much.

i realise its a selfish sort of feeling, but i think toby tends to write stories that illicit selfish feelings from you, so i dont mind it. he's not a developer that will make you feel bad just over the action of playing a game. he wants you to play, its his long running project, it would be weird to make a game and have nobody play it. he speaks so fondly of deltarune, so i find it hard to imagine that the story would make us a fully evil entity.
