the other day i was at an arcade w/ my partner and i was playing ms pacman next to some guy and his (im assuming) gf, they were playing qbert. suddenly the guy starts wigging out because hes about to lose. he then proceeds to call either qbert or the snakes that chase qbert (idk i wasn’t really sure but i was assuming he was talking about qbert) a “fucking r*t*rded f*gg*t” and promptly gets a game over. i start uncontrollably laughing. in any other circumstance i would be crawling in my skin hearing that. but personally witnessing a 40-something y/o white man lose his shit at fucking QBERT of all things so hard that he unleashed his book of slurs onto the small round fella sent me into a fucking laughing fit. i say “good god man it’s fucking qbert relax” loud enough for him to hear. he definitely heard. over the next few hours when we pass each other in the arcade i see him shoot me glares. every time my partner and i see them we say to each other “hey look it’s qbert” and crack up. life is worth living.
