âBut but okay so itâs aboutâŚitâs about parenting but itâs not about the kids, you see, itâs about wanting time with yourâŚfucking partner. Itâs about wantingâŚitâs about wanting time where they stay fucking your partnerâŚ.so anyways, the song is called âFuture Daysâ. So letâs sing âFuture Daysâ. You know, looking forward to future days when the kids are gone and it can be just us againâŚromanticâŚand uh you know, just being fucking romantic.â
- Eddie Vedder explaining the meaning behind Pearl Jamâs âFuture Daysâ right after playing âCome Back (Live)â aka the song thatâs playing as Carmy and Sydney take turns fixing the table together.
âŚand now iâm covered in you
to any marvelous mrs. maisel/luke kirby/lenny bruce fans who might not already know about its existence, i highly recommend checking out kevin pollakâs new maisel podcast where his first guest is luke kirby!
currently listening to it and its so nice to hear luke speak so relaxed (unlike some of his interviews where he seems a bit more reserved haha)
i only found out about this podcast through one random tweet so hoping to share it with others who might enjoy it!

âIâm veering toward clichĂŠ, but that feeling that you get when somebodyâs present and available, that you donât really have to do much to conjure anythingâŚbeing in a room breathing with someone can be a very tender thing and can really stir up so many different degrees of weather within you.â
- Luke Kirby on working with Rachel Brosnahan, interview by Savannah Walsh for Vanity Fair [x]
MIKEEE
S04E08, âHow Do You Get to Carnegie Hall?â
- There is a moment in this business, window's open. If you miss it, it closes. Just don't...
S05E08, âThe Princess and the Pleaâ
- What does it say?
- âDonâtâ.
As much as the character of Mike was bothersome to me at times, it sure felt satisfying to let Jason Ralph have a callback and in-character appreciation (probably not intentional?) for Midge AND his irl partner with this line.
Because really, as much as The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is carried by its production, writing, and every single person working hard behind the scenes, Rachel Brosnahan as Midge Maisel is just one motherfucking legend. What a showstopping performance.
And if sheâs got what it takes, sheâll bounce back.

Iâm gonna hold you to that.
only wise words from the lorelai gilmore
Gilmore Girlsâ âLet Me Hear Your Balalaikas Ringing Outâ (2005) âWe always played that Rory and Jess saw each other for what they were. That was the great thing about that relationship. She saw Jess for exactly what he was, and he really got her. So it just seemed like a natural thing [for Jess to pull Rory out of her funk] because you needed somebody to do it.â âAmy Sherman-Palladino
The Marvelous Mrs. Maiselâ âHow Do You Get to Carnegie Hall?â (2022) âPart of what I love about [Midge and Lennyâs] relationship is he looks at her as his equal. He doesnât look at her like a skirt or a conquest. And when theyâre sitting and drinking in that bar, theyâre doing so as two comics who are beaten down. Theyâre peers and theyâre trying to help each other.â âAmy Sherman-Palladino
