A bitter truth lingers here

And yet Clara was still insistent on treating him as an equal and wanting to do the same. The hound shook his head, "Unfortunately that is incorrect. You are above me and I am not to decide anything." He is only an attack dog after all, why would he need the ability to decide anything when all he expected to do it follow orders. "I really am incapable of changing this really… however I can attempt… to be more casual with you if it bothers you that much?"

     "I would like that, and you can even think of it as an order if it makes you feel better about it."

"As much as I would like to apologize for being wrong, this is a fact that even higher superiors have reminded me of consistently. Regardless of your station being that of a grunt, you are still higher up than I am and as such demand the same respect as one."  He really does do this with all the grunts as well, some liking it a little too much and abusing that privilege. 

     "But alright I get it," Even if she didn't like it and she will continue to make it known she can't fight it. Wasn't like her words were going to suddenly change his mind set either. So she just had to accept that as part of who he is, even if it bothers her. "Still need a bed though."

I’ll answer the anon and then also try to guess the ship, or say which one I think the child would belong best from.

"Please, Clara. It really is quite alright. Though your concern is appreciated, a superior such as yourself should not need to worry themselves about me." It was just so strange for someone to keep giving him ideas of how to make things better. However, the hound was content with curling up on the floor and did not aspire to anything better. Sometimes he even went to the floor even when his bed was available. That’s how little he minds it.

     "You must be mistaken, I'm simply a grunt nothing more and nothing less. And I'll worry regardless." She stated bluntly, showing clear annoyance on her face at his words. Seems like she didn't like the idea of being someone superior apparently...

"If that is what you wish to refer to me as, I will not object. It is your decision after all."She wouldn’t be the first one to call him that. There were some, like the scientists and executives, who did call  him Ethan instead of the other names. He responds to all of them so it really does not matter to him.

"Stop with that if you wish- I'm not even high ranking I'm just a grunt and you are allowed to decide too you know." Hilda stated, as while he was trying to be casual his submissiveness showed other wise. She sighs as she rubs the back of her neck annoyed, "At least with me you are."

However he did appreciate her assistance with the mattress retrieval. As he re-pockets Electra’s Pokeball, he hears her question about his sleeping on the floor. “I don’t mind it really. It’s really not that bad. Sometimes there are items on the bed so I sleep on the floor anyway. I do not need much.”

"You say that but..." It was hard for her to wrap her mind around this fact, just why was he abused and mistreated like this. How the heck could he just endure it and say he doesn't mind. It just doesn't make sense to her at all...
