So I'm reading a lot of philosophy/mindfulness/yoga stuff for work and some books about early religions for fun. The more I read the more I notice that a very significant amount of philosophy is just the result of men noticing their own ignorance but still not listening to women.
Literally the last book I read by a monk has a whole chapter about doing the washing up for the first time ever, and discovering some worth in cleaning other than making things clean. Then he tries to teach you so you too can turn your brain off doing the washing up, because obviously if you don't live as a monk you've never done your own washing up (am I right men?) He even ends this lecture by explaining the difference between doing the washing up to have clean plates (the way women do) and washing up to wash up (like a monk who has chosen a life of service and meditation).
It's all filled with this assumption that YOU the unenlightened reader have never done an act of service or had someone expect humility from you. That you need to be taught to lower yourself before God and that service will bring you closer to God. And not a single one so far has mentioned mothers. Service to the needs of a child, apparently dosnโt bring you any closer to God, that's just expected. You can't reach enlightenment by fulfilling obligations, you need to choose it. Which assumes that you have a choice.
Early mortality lessons are filled with men patting themselves on the back for learning to share while half-heartedly acknowledging that the good lady wife has always shared everything with him from the second they met but she obviously isn't enlightened enough to start a religion over it. Men will become slightly better people and consider themselves enlightened and devine beings, for having figured out something, on his own, which his sister was taught at age 6.
