idk if its like the neurodivergence tm or whatever that makes me observe my experiences rather than actually experience them but i do find that it makes for an interesting way i go about writing

like for most folks who experience life narratively, something makes you hurt, so you write to show people how you were hurt. Hopefully you're seen, and you find meaning in being seen. I read a lot of these, the I hurt, feel my pain style of work.

but like. hm. how do i put this?

something hurts me and my first metaphorical instinct is to look down, yank out the thorn, note exactly where I got stabbed anatomically and proceed to find satisfaction when I can find a similar underbelly to stab the thorn into someone else. it's like the satisfaction of writing a good angst fic that you specifically designed to hurt a particular friend in the good way.

on the one hand, it's still definitely a bid for connection, both of these methodologies are.

on the other had I'm not sure I like what it says about my complete distrust that my pain will not be believed unless I hone it perfectly beforehand, and target it skillfully
