This community has GOT to stop with the “gatekeeping” mentality just because people don’t want to share their OCs for others to download and use.
NOBODY would walk into a writing or art community and demand that someone hand over their OCs so they could use them in their own work.
People are allowed to create characters for themselves. They’re allowed to keep them private. They’re allowed to decide who, if anyone, gets to use them. You are not entitled to someone else’s creative work just because you like it.
You’re allowed to express yourself creatively in whatever way makes you feel comfortable and safe. If that means keeping your OCs private or only sharing them with a small group of people you trust, especially when you’re at the risk of people defacing, altering, or claiming your work as their own, that is completely valid.
Not everything someone creates has to be made available for everyone else to use.
