Introduction: The land of the pale sun is a world with no sky but an open window to the galaxy. Said to be the home of a resting eldritch deity, tales and lullabies rumor it's less than happy and waiting to wake up and destroy the world.

Civilization: This world relies on mining, but it's been choked of resources leading to towns falling apart and cities ruling themselves. Towns and villages out of the outskirts are rogue, depending on whichever city closest they decide to provide resources to.

Cities also often sit on over-mined places, resulting in the outskirts being able to do what they can't as well as farm on less saturated land. Since grass and actual dirt is pretty little, farming is scarce, resulting in everyone willing to go batshit insane for whatever they can get. Thus, crime runs a bit rampant.
