Tim Wright x gen neutral reader, Reader is down bad, Tim is also down bad but in a Tim way, he might be OOC, reader can be a proxy or creep, shouldnt matter, reader has a walk-in closet bc i make the rules here,
Paranoia had gotten the better of you.
For the last couple of hours you have done nothing but sit at your desk and glue these sparkly plastic stones from hell on the rest of your lighters.
When you started, it was fun. A nice craft to pass some time, trying different patterns and techniques. Now your back hurts and you feel pins and needles in your legs.
Sticking the last few rhinestones in place, you grin. Setting the last lighter with the others.
This way, Timās lighter isnāt singled out, isnāt the only one with details. No one would guess that the black one is special.
You take a moment to straighten your back, popping your spine as you stretch your arms and shoulders.
Knock knock knock
Itās quick and sharp. You panic, yelling out a quick āJust a minute!ā Quickly snapping the bedazzling set closed and tossing it to the back wall of your closet. It lands behind the pile of clothes that youāve yet to put away. You toss the bedazzled lighters in your desk drawer before quickly shoving it closed.
You almost trip getting up before your hand touches the doorhandle, opening it with a little too much force.
Masky stands there, arms crossed and posture rigid.
āNeed a light.ā
āOh," you almost panic. Keeping your face as neutral as possible, "yea, sureā you mumble, walking back into your room to grab the black stolen one from your jacket pocket. Snagging the article from your bed, you quickly turn-
Tim is standing behind you. You didnāt hear him, sure itās only a few steps, but with the heavy boots he wearsā¦
A cigarette rests between his lips, his Mask turned to the side of his head. His hands are stuffed in his pockets, howād he get that cigarette out so quick? His eyes look bored as they pierce through you.
Youāre suddenly aware of the space around you. Heās standing so close, closer than he needs to be to get a light. Your bed is right behind you, the blanket brushing up against the back of your knees.
āOk, letās go outside,ā your voice is shaking, slightly breathless. You lean to step around-
āNo, here.ā Damn this man.
You slightly stiffen and blood rushes through your body. Fire spread across your cheeks, then your face.
You raise your hand up, holding the lighter between you. His stare sharpens as you flick it on, the brown so pretty in the warm glow.
Leaning forward, Tim takes a deep inhale, shoulders rising as he fills his lungs.
Your face burns, trying to hold the intense stare. The hand clutching your jacket is shaking slightly, the one holding the lighter is sweating.
You let the flame run for a moment too long. Quickly, you let the lighter off. Softly blowing on the hot metal before slipping it back in your jacket.
Tim takes the cig from his lips with two fingers, slowly breathing out a chest full of smoke through his nose. Heās still staring at you, itās hard to tell what heās thinking. His expression is a hard one, but is different from his normal āIām over thisā look.
You canāt move. Your heartbeat is running laps around your chest. What do you do now? Your eyes still canāt seem to tear away from his. Hopefully he doesnāt notice that your hands are still trembling as they clutch the jacket.
You want to kiss him. Can you kiss him? No. Why is he standing so close? You can feel the heat from his body radiating off him.
āNew mission, go get changed.ā
You snap back into reality. Tim is standing a little further away now. When did he move? Have youāve been awkwardly gawking at him this whole time? Did you just embarrass yourself? The air feels a bit cooler now than it did a moment ago.
Clearing your throat and letting out a small ārightā, you take a few steps forward to the closet. The old tank top and pajama shorts you're wearing werenāt going to cut it.
As you pass Tim, his hand reaches for the jacket in your clutches. Pausing to look at him, he just gives that same stern expression. You gently let go when he moves it away from you, hanging it over his other arm.
He doesnāt say anything, just inhales another puff.
You turn, quickly stepping inside your closet, turning the light on as you shut the door behind you. Taking a moment for your skipping heart and light headedness, you pause.
Tim watches as you close the door with a small āclickā. His eyes roam back to your bed as he blows smoke on the duvet.
Your closet is still a mess. Clothes, shoes, accessories, old boxes and the bedazzling set you frisbee-ed in here earlier scatter the floor. With a grim face, because you need to clean, you start searching for your normal outfit and getup.
āIs it just stalking through the forest again?ā
He looks around your room, eyeing the messy desk. Taking another drag, he opens one of the drawers. Nothing interesting. The second one gives him pause; all your lighters are bedazzled.
āYea. Slender thinks thereās a group headed this wayā¦ā
He was hoping you had a normal one that didnāt have rhinestones, but oh well. If anything, it helps cover his tracks.
Setting the jacket over your desk chair, Tim takes the lighter out of the pocket. Holding it in his right hand, analyzing as the stones glittered. He could tell they were glued on, not just sold like that.
Taking a jeweled lighter from his back pocket with his lefthand, he compares the two. They look close enough; the stones are the same size and color.
He got the lighter off a victim from a few hours before. Normally, heās just glad to have another lighter, but when he saw how similar it is to yours⦠why waste opportunity?
Heād need to find a way to get the glue and stones off, but heās always been resourceful. Itās not like he really plans on using it, he can get other lighters. But this one is yours, and if he's going to get away with this, then it can't look like it.
Tim quickly pockets your prized lighter, dropping the replacement in the jacket pocket just as you open the closet door.
āOkay,ā you say, walking back out into your room. āLetās go.ā
Tim wordlessly tosses your jacket at you, quickly walking out into the hallway.
Rolling your eyes as you yank your jacket on, you pat your pockets. Feeling the shape of your special lighter, you follow him. You can change it out later anyway.
Guys be honest, does my writing belong on wattpad?
āyou want me to hug you?ā habit asked, staring at you like youād lost your mind.
you tilted your head, eyes still teary and your hands bunched in the cuffs of the hoodie you wore. youād had one of the worst days of your life, and all you wanted was to be held.
āyou always hug me,ā your voice cracked a little, a fabric-hidden fist lifting to wipe at freshly fallen tears, ādo you hate me now? am i too clingy?ā
habit slowly, very slowly, pointed at the body slung over his shoulder, āsorry, is there not a fuckinā guy on my shoulder right now? you want me to group hug with my dinner, sweets?ā your reddened eyes scanned the body, a wave of sadness making your shoulders droop.
then, he saw the gears clicking in your head.
ādonāt you dare,ā he spat, ādonāt you fucking do it.ā
āplease?ā your eyes, watery and utterly devastated, met his. the body fell to the ground with an unceremonious thud, and you were grabbed. habitās teeth sunk into the covered area of your shoulder, grumbling in disdain as he held you.
ājust canāt say no to you. pitiful pathetic thing,ā he groaned, pulling away. he ignored the minimal blood and grime that had smeared against the front of the garment. his hand reached up, fingers digging into your cheeks and gently shaking your head, āonly person in the damn world who pisses me off like this.ā
you smiled cutely, and a deep purple hue passed through his irises. habitās gaze dropped to the ground, boot pushing against the body, āguess iāll starve. yāneed me too much to let me eat, huh?ā
he noticed the way you almost curled in on yourself in shame, eyes averting to the floor. āso sensitive today, sweetheart,ā he muttered, bending slightly to pick you up. you blinked and the body was gone, and you assumed it was now in his basementāwhere he would later reconvene.
āhow bad aāday was it?ā
āthe worst,ā you whispered as he plopped on the couch. he kept you in his lap, letting you nuzzle up to him. as a result of your hands gently tracing the lines of his palms, habit internally cursed when his chest began to unwillingly rumble with purrs.
he was starving, but he, and he will never tell you this, preferred to cradle you like this over anything else. it inflated his ego majorly, your need to seek him out after a bad day only proving that you do need him.
and he supposed it was nice to be needed.
ālove you,ā you sleepily mumbled, stifling a giggle when habit heavily sighed.
āyouāre a fuckinā handful.ā
he wouldnāt have it any other way.
but donāt tell him that, he hasnāt accepted it yet.

Just them being cute because the angst iāve consumed surrounding them lately has been VICIOUS. I also just need more Brim art in my lifeā¦
Their kitty is named Missy!!! Brian is allergic and like a bum he never told Tim that, instead he got the cat for Tim knowing he always wanted one and Tim only found out later after he grew attached when Brian slipped about picking up some allergy medication⦠smh
Brian has always clung to his faith, even after everything he's done. You see his nightly prayers as a source of comfort, never realizing he's asking God for forgiveness. Not for the blood on his hands, but for loving Tim. As Brian's religious trauma begins to bleed into the relationship, Tim quietly notices the guilt behind each prayer, each touch, and every time Brian removes his cross before lying beside him.
Warnings and Triggers:

Author's Note:
Something short for today!
I've seen a lot of focus on the reader's personal relationship with Tim and Brian, but I wanted to look at their dynamic specifically as two men navigating love alongside Brian's religious trauma.
This is not intended to offend or critique anyone's faith. I'm Catholic myself, and don't believe love is a sin. This is simply an exploration of how Brian's past could influence the way he experiences love.
Thank you for reading, and enjoy!
BrianĀ had always been the more religious of the two.Ā
Tim believed in God in the distant, uncomplicated way he believed in thingsĀ heādĀ never had much to question.Ā BrianĀ was different. His faith had roots. It had survived everything thatĀ shouldāveĀ killed itāviolence, bloodshed, the thingsĀ they had done, the things they had seen. Somehow, even after all of that,Ā BrianĀ still found his way to prayer.Ā
You thought it was beautiful.Ā
Sometimes, late at night,Ā youādĀ wake to the faintest murmur beside you.Ā BrianĀ would be sitting at the edge of the bed, head bowed, hands clasped so tightly his knuckles had gone pale. Moonlight would spill through the window and catch on the little silver cross at his throat.Ā
You never interrupted him.Ā
You assumed he was thanking God.Ā
For you. For Tim. For the fact that, despite everything, the three of you had somehow found something that resembled happiness.Ā
BrianĀ seemed happy. Genuinely happy.Ā
There was a softness to him now that youĀ hadnātĀ seen before. He laughed more easily. He slept better when you were beside him. He reached for you without thinking, fingers curling around your wrist or settling at your waist simply because he wanted to know you were there.Ā
And when Tim was around,Ā BrianĀ looked at him with the kind of affection that made your chest ache.Ā
You never considered thatĀ BrianĀ might be praying for forgiveness.Ā
You never imagined that, in the quietest corners of his heart,Ā BrianĀ had already decided there were things God could forgive him for and things HeĀ couldnāt.Ā
Murder.Ā
Violence.Ā
Greed.Ā
The curses that tore themselves from his mouth in moments of anger.Ā
Every terrible thingĀ BrianĀ had done could be confessed. Repented for.Ā WashedĀ clean with enough remorse.Ā
But loving Tim?Ā
That was different.Ā
That was the sinĀ BrianĀ could not convince himself he deserved absolution for.Ā
And youāsweetly, painfully unawareāneverĀ knew.Ā
He noticed the cross. He noticed howĀ Brianās thumb sometimes wandered over the pendant when he was anxious, tracing the worn edges as though searching for an answer hidden within the metal.Ā He noticed the wayĀ BrianĀ prayed when he thought no one was awake.Ā
Most of all, Tim noticed what happened afterward.Ā
Whenever the three of you slept together,Ā BrianĀ would eventually reach beneath his shirt and remove the necklace.Ā
He always did it quietly. Carefully.Ā
As though the tinyĀ pieceĀ of silver were something sacred that could be offended by what happened beneath the sheets.Ā
Tim never said anything.Ā
What could he say?Ā
You were happy.Ā That was what mattered.Ā
He could see it in youāthe warmth, the security, the way you fit between them as though you had always belonged there. AndĀ BrianĀ was happy, too. Tim knew that much. He knew becauseĀ heādĀ spent enough years besideĀ BrianĀ to recognize the difference between his smiles and the real thing.Ā
SoĀ Tim swallowed the question.Ā
He swallowed it every timeĀ BrianĀ slipped the cross from around his neck before lying down beside him.Ā
Every timeĀ BrianĀ kissed himĀ afterward.Ā
Every timeĀ BrianĀ whispered that he loved him.Ā
It became something Tim carried alone.Ā
Until one night, in the hush of your shared cabin, it became impossible to ignore.Ā
The mission had dragged into the early hours. Rain pressed steadily against the roof, a soft, relentless tapping that filled the wooden walls like a second heartbeat. Inside, the fire in the living room crackled low and steady, casting amber light that trembled across the floorboards and warmed nothing but the edges of the dark.Ā
YouādĀ fallen asleep first.Ā
Curled into the couch, half-buried in a blanket,Ā yourĀ breathing even and untroubled as firelight flickered over your face,Ā
BrianĀ had watched over you for a while, then finally settled beside Tim on the opposite end of the couch.Ā
The cabin felt too still despite the storm outside. The kind of stillness that made every sound feel sacred.Ā
Only the rainĀ remained, tapping against the roof in patient, unbroken rhythm.Ā
Tim was lying back when he heard the faint metallic click.Ā
He opened his eyes.Ā
BrianĀ was removing the cross.Ā
For a moment, neither of them spoke.Ā
Firelight caught on the pendant asĀ BrianĀ held it between two fingers, staring down at it. The glow made it look almost aliveālike something that still remembered what it was meant to mean. There was something unbearably solemn about the sight, framed by the hush of rain and the breathing wood of the cabin.Ā
Timās chest tightened.Ā
āBrian.āĀ
BrianĀ froze. His fingers closed around the cross.Ā
āWhat?āĀ
Tim hesitated. He hated how suddenly small he felt. Not afraid ofĀ Brian.Ā NeverĀ that. Afraid of what the answer might do to the quiet between them.Ā
āWhy do you always take it off?āĀ
Brianās expression shifted only slightly, but Tim knew him too well. His jaw tightened. His eyes dropped.Ā
āThe necklace?āĀ
āYou know what I mean.āĀ
Silence.Ā
Rain whispered against the roof like a distant prayer.Ā
Eventually,Ā BrianĀ exhaled.Ā
āI donāt want it on me.āĀ
āWhy?āĀ
Another silence.Ā
BrianĀ looked toward you.Ā You were sleeping peacefully on the couch a few feet away, face softened by firelight, completely unaware of the conversation unfolding in the dim glow of the room. Something inĀ Brianās expression softened.Ā
Then it broke.Ā
"Because,ā he whispered, āIĀ donātĀ think God would want it here.āĀ
Tim stared at him.Ā
The words landed with an almost physical weight, heavier than the rain, heavier than the firelight.Ā
āHere?āĀ HeĀ repeated.Ā
Brianās eyes stayed on the cross.Ā
āWith me.āĀ
Tim pushed himself upright slightly, the couch creaking beneath him.Ā
āBrian.āĀ
"I know what Iāve done.ā His voice was barely audible, swallowed by the crackle of the fire. āI know what kind of man I am.āĀ
āDonāt.āĀ
āIāveĀ killed people, Tim.āĀ
āI know.āĀ
āIāve hurt people.āĀ
āI know.āĀ
"Iāve lied.Ā IāveĀ stolen.Ā IāveĀ been cruel.Ā IāveĀ said things IĀ shouldnātĀ have said.ā His thumb rubbed anxiously over the pendant, firelight trembling across his knuckles. āIāve done things I canāt take back.āĀ
Timās expressionĀ twisted.Ā
āAnd you thinkĀ thatāsĀ worse?āĀ
BrianĀ finally looked at him.Ā
Tim swallowed.Ā
"You think God can forgive all of that,ā he whispered, ābut not this?āĀ
BrianĀ didnātĀ answer.Ā
HeĀ didnātĀ have to.Ā
The silence wasĀ answerĀ enough, thick as smoke in the warm air.Ā
Tim stared at him, heart aching withĀ an angerĀ that had nowhere to go. Because suddenly, all those nightsĀ heādĀ watchedĀ BrianĀ pray made sense.Ā
All those whispered words.Ā
All those bowed heads lit only by moonlight or fire.Ā
Every careful of that cross.Ā
BrianĀ hadnātĀ been thanking God for giving him a life with them.Ā
He had been begging God to forgive him for wanting it.Ā
Tim reached forward.Ā
BrianĀ flinched when Tim caught his wrist.Ā
Not away.Ā
Just enough to show heĀ hadnātĀ expected tenderness.Ā
āYou know what I hate?āĀ
Brianās brow furrowed.Ā
"I hate that you thinkĀ lovinā me belongs on the same list as everything you done wrong.āĀ
Brianās lips parted.Ā
Nothing came out.Ā
TimāsĀ gripĀ loosened until his hand slipped down, fingers threading throughĀ Brianās.Ā
āYouĀ donātĀ have to take it off justĀ ācauseĀ youāre beside me.āĀ
BrianĀ stared at their joined hands, firelight flickering over their skin.Ā
"And if you think God hates you forĀ lovinā me,ā Tim continued, quieter now, āthen I donāt know what kind of God youāreĀ prayinā to.āĀ
Brianās eyes shone.Ā
He looked away quickly, as if the fire had suddenly becomeĀ tooĀ bright.Ā
TimĀ didnātĀ press him.Ā
That was the cruelest part of loving someone, sometimes. Understanding that youĀ couldnātĀ drag their guilt out of them by force. You could only sit beside them while they carried it.Ā
SoĀ Tim stayed.Ā
He stayed on the worn couch, shoulder pressed against Brianās, their hands still intertwined as rain tapped rhythmically against theĀ roofĀ and the fire breathed between them.Ā
After a long while, Brian lifted theĀ cross.Ā
For a brief second, Tim thought he was going to slip it back around his neck.Ā
Instead, Brian pressed the pendant into his palm.Ā
āKeep it.āĀ
Tim looked down.Ā
āBrianāāĀ
āJust for tonight.āĀ
Tim closed his fingers around it.Ā
And when Brian finally leaned against him, exhausted and tremblingĀ almost imperceptibly, Tim lowered his head against Brianās.Ā
Neither of them spoke.Ā
Across the room, you slept on, peaceful and trusting, unaware that the two men you loved were sitting in the firelit dark with something far more frightening than any monster they had ever faced.Ā
Not sin.Ā
Not God.Ā
Just the terrible possibility that Brian might never learn that he was worthy of being loved without asking forgiveness for it.Ā
